What's the the hate against Suckless? It's a small, niche collection of programs focused on code quality, no bloat and Unix Philosophy. Why is are all the pajeets and (((trannies))) spamming /g/ with their anti suckless bullshit?

what happened to plan 9? I know the last release by bell labs was in 2015? but did a community form around it? As far as I can tell it was supposed to more UNIX than UNIX itself.

DOS is a mistake.
Even though "disks" is a good way to represent physical storage devices, but "disks" should NEVER be part of the filesystem.

Hello,
I want to install plan9 on my pc but I can't seem to succeed.
So far I've downloaded the cd image and tried creating a bootable usb with rufus and I got the following error "This image is either non-bootable or it uses a boot or compression that is not supported by Rufus...", so I tried with unetbootin but that didn't work when I tried booting on my pc.
So I tried with the USD disk image, again I used rufus with the "DD image" option. Everything worked fine until I got the following error on my pc when trying to boot on the usb device "devbios: no bios drives seen".
I don't know what to do.
Can somebody please help me?
Thank you

Plan 9 is the answer!

> free
> monolithic kernel, but user-space fileservers used for many core functions
> bsd-style init
> windowing system is minimalist and has pretty colours
> 9atom and 9front are actively developed
> you don't understand why OSes need drivers
> Plan 9 is more Unix than Unix, and was written by the same people as Unix
> Acme is a wonderful IDE
> APE can compile and run some POSIX source
> you can install it on some PC hardware
