but it's comfy without socks

>>58903050
It's a really nice keyboard, but I don't really use it a whole lot since it's fucking massive and my desk space is rather limited. I'd take it to work, but it's a bit too loud for that.

>Regular keyboards have almost no tactile feedback and can result in joint strain
The fuck are you smoking anon.

There's nothing more ergonomic about having tactile feedback. The only benefit that mechanical keyboards offer in terms of ergonomics is the fact that it's quite easy for a single person to design and build a layout that they want (e.g. atreus or ergodox) that's more ergonomic that traditional keyboard layouts. There's nothing more ergonomic about having keyboards that are twice the height of what a membrane keyboard could be.

You can buy a fucking novatouch in an actual brick and mortar store?

Where the fuck do you live that you have stores with novatouches in stock and for sale?

Yeah, I considered doing that, but I'll already be picking up another one in Japan, and the next keyboard I'd be interested in exceeds my 180 bucks budget.

How are those keycaps? I've been thinking of picking one of those up in ANSI layout if I can find one in Akihabara

overcome your fears anon, the worst that can happen is that you fuck up and learn from the mistake that you made.

Nothing grants you coolness points like spending more money on parts for a keyboard than an actual keyboard would cost, breaking shit and then spending even more money in a half-assed attempt to fix it.
No seriously, just take the plunge. Start with something small like a numpad if you're scared, I'll even hold your hand through every single step if you'd like.

>>55267526
Cheers, have fun and keep us posted. What do you plan on building?

This.

I was choosing between making my own with zealios and a Topre board at the time, after spending about 30 bucks in order to get my hands on both of the switches in question, I opted for the 220 bucks Topre board.

Nothing wrong with making a minor investment in order to make a good decision on a larger investment.

Whatever you like. Typing fast is possible on every switch, comfort is a matter of your personal preference.

Look at the different types of switches and see what appeals to you, then come back to make sure you didn't choose the wrong type of switch that we don't approve of.

They're a whole lot smoother than cherries since they use a softer plastic.

Let's see.

The pok3r is quite popular. You could get the one from WASD and use the rest of your budget on some nice keycaps (the stock ones have laser etched legends).

There's also a bunch of other options out there, like the Ducky Mini if you want fancy lights.

If you're interested in matias switches (I only have experience with dampened cream alps) but I hear that they're quite nice, there's the KBPv60, not to mention the galore of other 60% option out there.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?keyword=&brand=&switch=&size=60%25&led=either&capmat=&capprint=&model=&in_stock=off&in_stock=on&preorder=off&preorder=on

And yes, I'm aware that you're in Germany, but if you want ANSI you're not really going to get around importing things from the US. Though maybe you can find some stuff in netherlands online retail since they also use ANSI there. Should save you some shipping costs at least.

I don't know if it's "the best", but I recently came across this here, which is already quite a lot considering how rare that colourway is.

These are all the memes I have right now.

I was going to sell the Shine 4, but I didn't hear from the guy who was interested in buying it in ages.

Next on my list is a Clueboard with Matias QC and a Wooting One once it releases. Also going to build two numpads. And that split build I keep talking about. Though none of this will be happening before August the earliest.

Maybe I'll pick something up when I'm in Japan though.
