The stupid will always outnumber the intelligent. Name one IT company that uses windoze/ifag machine to run its super important piece of code. None not even Microsoft and Apple can claim that. It's just the way it is.

Also if you belong to the tech world at all, you would know that Linux is the real currency. Your knowledge of the linux platform defines what you get paid, quite literally your worth. If you don't know this, you are either not from this industry of literally a newfag, and thus the lowest of the low in the tech ladder.

Do you think it'll actually be that model? Every other seller I've tried has been trying to sell me a "100% compatible" panel instead.

is my nexus 4 dead? I've done legit nothing to it. I tried to charge it just then and the screen was totally unresponsive. I held down volume down + power for 15 seconds then put in the charging cable, the only response I got from that is a solid red led. I doubt it could be bricked, i've done nothing to it

People ITT not seeing Samsung is going for God-tier industry leader play with Oculus and going all out on VR-enabled devices across their Galaxy/Note product lines from now on. They need higher resolution, higher refresh rate screens which is why Samsung keeps pressing screen tech forward. Appleshits won't understand until the iSight™ VR device add-on for the iPhone 8™ with HyperRetina™ Screen comes out.

Mobile VR/AR IS going to be one of the main uses of smartphones within the next decade and the first company to make it happen for the average consumer's cellphone like any other feature gets the largest cut of the multibillion dollar hardware pie and delicious App Dollars.

If you've never used a DK2 or Gear VR you simply can't comprehend how good the technology is even at its relatively infantile stage. This is the first-generation smartphone phase of VR's deployment to the masses. When I'm riding the subway I literally turn it into a movie theater with my gear VR and watch some TV shows while I enjoy the ride home free of plebs.

Pass-through in future releases will undoubtedly turn into a continuous wear mode that will allow the future feather-light, high-resolution HMDs to be worn continuously, providing a plethora of real-time AUGMENTATIONS TO HUMAN PERCEPTION. Your phone can have cameras to allow you to see in new spectrum of light, or in the dark. You can have live-view navigation to destinations. Real-time search of information and HUD. Life-recording. But you can also take it off and just use your normal phone with a very good looking screen.

Its coming and you'll get used to it like everything else. In about 10 years, this technology will be ubiquitous and have extremely small form factors. Why have a big expensive TV when all your friends have VR-capable cellphones/headsets that can link into your home's network and project the same game or show you're playing for their own personal screens?
