The Seiko is quite thick and wears like a deck watch, more casual than it appears in pictures. The Nomos is a thin dress watch. The Nomos is more refined in every aspect, from the hands to the markings, to the movement decoration, to the way the case is built (much more "seamless" feel). However the Seiko has its own charm with the beautiful enamel dial. I'd say the Nomos but both are worth every penny I paid for. Might sell the Seiko in a few months, but still enjoying it for now.

Yes, unfortunately. Though some Japanese sellers on ebay still have some in stock, in the $750-950 range. I bought mine slightly used (seller bought it in May) for just over half of that.
