Building a little HTPC, ran into an issue I've never come across.

A8 3850, 8GB ddr3, gigabyte FM1 motherboard, Corsair CX600.

When I first assembled it, pressing the power button spun the CPU fan a little bit and then nothing. I unplugged everything, removed a stick of ram, no USB, just a VGA monitor, 12V, 24pin, power switch, 1 stick of ram.

It will turn on 50% of the time in this configuration, adding components one at a time severely decreased the chance it will post. Even plugging in the front USB connector will make a previously booting configuration not boot. It has never worked while the DVD drive is plugged into the power supply. I was able to get it to start once with the hdd plugged into the PSU, and a sata cable in, it recognized the drive fine.

I have to unplug the power cable from the PSU and re-insert it before the power switch will do anything.

When it does power up, it posts fine, let it run for 30 minutes once while I read the manual to make sure they didn't introduce some new faggotry. Voltages look fine, everything looks totally normal.

Any ideas? First thought is PSU. I'm going to try putting a working one in tomorrow.
