Around the same price I'd say the 6R15 is superior. Slow and steady wins the race.

Also it doesn't suffer from excessive wear in the handwinding complication like the 2824 does. And better shock protection, base-grade 2824 doesn't even have Incabloc.

And finally the Seiko automatic winding system (the Magic Lever) is IMO far superior to reversing wheels spinning like crazy.

It happens. Even ETA doesn't recommend handwinding their movements. This makes buying used/vintage Swiss automatic with ETA insides a gamble as their barrel bridge might be blown.
