>Obviously whoever bought the watch. If it isn't pulling the movement apart and oiling the right spots, it's piss easy.
Normies aren't like you and me, I've regularly seen people mangle the Miyota 2035 inside their Casio trying to change the battery.

Usually they bend the fuck out of the battery retaining spring (next to the coil, holding the battery), and maybe tear the coil too for good measure.

Some, like the Miyota 2035 are perfectly serviceable. But servicing costs about the same as dropping a brand new movement in so why bother. Others are riveted or ultrasonic welded together so they can't be disassembled, making them unserviceable. Most notable the $1 Chinese SL68 and the $50 Swiss ETA G10. Kek.

Remember how the original argument was typical mechanical vs typical quartz? Is a GS a typical quartz movement, huh stupid?

I'll help, it was this post >>64914754 goldfish memory-kun.

>buying pic three times at once
Seriously anyone who buys this, or even obtains it for free should be killed on the spot, no trial.

There are good cheap quartz movements and shit cheap quartz movement.

Shit will be any chink 6,75x8 ligne movement that's in a $10 Ebay-special. Plastic everything, can't be taken apart, can't be serviced, once something happens with it it's fucked forever.

A good cheap quartz movement would be a Miyota 2035, no jewels, also 6,75x8 ligne in size, but it's good quality, sane design, and most importantly serviceable. It's around $5.

These are probably "pulled out of my ass" statistics, but if you count movements only Miyota beats anything else by far.

No crash, instead expect a smartwach-crisis with quartz "dumbwatches" going near extinct. Also expect "luxury" Casios with simple 6x8 quartz movements costing around $1000 by the mid 2020's.

Alright m80s, it's fixed, so I guess it's mine now. I still have to show it to the watchmaker-sensei, this busted watch was kinda a test for a job.

The problem was the coil, it looked foreign to begin with (burnt sienna color, instead of the usual copper for a Miyota 2035), so I tested it. The resistance was wildly out of spec, 3 mega-ohm instead of the normal 2 kilo-ohm, so I replaced it with a healthy coil from a donor. The fourth wheel was also busted, with the wheel being separated from its pinion.

Finally, brown or black leather? Croc or plain? Unfortunately it's gold with a silver dial, so I'll want to make it more masculine with the proper strap.

Reminder that you don't need anything more than this inside the case.

What's a modern mechanical movement that's 6 3/4x8 ligne (same size as Miyota 2035, Ronda 763, ETA 802)?
