1000 Miles are unlined. This means there is no extra layer of leather lining the inside of the boot, next to your feet. They also have a fit and feel of their own.

I always add a Topy to leather soles. If you take care of your boots you'll have them for decades.

1000 Miles are mid-price but can often be the best choice as they are versatile. Try to get a used pair and clean them up.

Chippewa boots rebranded as L.L. Bean Katahdin Boots are always a good choice. I got some way way way back in the day and used a liberal amount of stain to darken the fuck out of them. They're goddamn beautiful.
