1) Don't drink a lot of alcohol and eat a lot of junk food because "lol college"
2) See 1
3) Exercise regularly.

Literally that simple. The people that gain are the types that justify late night ramen noodle binges or chugging bad beer or not hitting the gym because "I have to study" or someshit.

No, go the fuck outside. The reason why people are fat is because they think the only alternative is working very hard doing activities they dont like while staring at a wall/mirror for hours.

As general advice that isnt told enough: Find something that you legitimately enjoy that is also active. Heres a few ideas lots of people enjoy without being conscious of calorie burn:

>parkour/freerunning
>hiking
>yoga
>gymnastics
>martial arts
>rough sex
>literally just walking

Note how none of those are terribly difficult or expensive to start doing, and with actual passion and dedication they will carve your body. Personally i find all of the above better with a partner, so make some friends that have the same fitness values as you or convert your fat friends. Because if all your buddies want to do is lay on ass, so will you.

I seriously want to kill every thin person I see because they are STARVING themselves for other people.
how vain can you get
And to those who say it's calories in and out.
NOPE go read a book for once
the body needs extra calories to live pass the age of 50 or your body can easily develop disease and cancer.
That's why when you see cancer patients they are underweight because they didn't eat enough in their youth.
Educate yourselves you dumbfucks

Yeah, there was a story awhile ago of a 900lbs guy basically skipping food for an entire year(Just eating soup broth and vitamin tablets)
He lost a bunch of weight and was healthy. I'm sure his stomach shrank like crazy too, so losing the weight he had left was probably a lot easier too...

But he had something most piggies dont... Will power.
He also ruined his body(900lbs = tons of extra skin) which is awesome, since i really think fatties need permanent reminders of how weak and pathetic they are, even if they do manage to overcome it later on in life.

just start. that's really it. go every day. make it your routine. don't let yourself skip for a 'rest day' until at least week 3. push yourself, but don't go hard every day and hurt yourself. just get your ass there consistently, even if it's just to go do cardio and stretch your sore muscles. before long you'll start to feel like shit on days you miss. you'll be asking yourself the inverse: how would i not want to go to the gym? become compulsive about it. if you're starting from step: 0, just go and walk/jog, do cardio. when you want to start seeing more/faster progress pick up the weights. don't skip muscle groups just because biceps are 'more aesthetic' while 'legs aren't fun' to work. a disproportionate person is not aesthetic, no matter how toned.

learn to buy healthy groceries and develop good work and study habits

I can tell you this as someone who gained 20 pounds in freshman year

when you're stressed about assignments you put less effort into buying healthy food and exercising

when you don't eat right and exercise you become lethargic and have a harder time with your studies

this leads to further stress and worse eating and less activity

don't let yourself get into the cycle

plan a day schedule with consistent times for going to bed and waking up, don't stay up late doing dumb shit; don't eat out unless you're with buds; don't keep junk food around; and most importantly, don't let yourself fall into self pity. "well I can order pizza because fuck it this assignment is killing me and I just don't care if it's bad I can't deal with making healthy choices right now waah waah" -- what I sounded like when I should have realized that pizza was not the right healthy choice and would actually lead to a short term loss of motivation

The most important thing is to be disciplined, to study and work out and attend class and get sleep. The reason people fuck all this up in first year is that they don't realize how much work their family was doing for them when they lived at home or how much the judgment of their parents led to them sleeping reasonable hours and attending classes. When they go to university they don't have all the same pressures keeping them in check, and they have new pressures—more work, more responsibilities, living around new people some of whom are girls—that throw them completely off-balance. The way to avoid this is, you know, make schedules, use willpower, all that shit.

And try to set limits on how much you drink.

I kno I kno. On that last point I was actually being a bit tongue-in-cheek. I don't think the argument that unhealthy food can be very inexpensive is entirely false, either. It also tends to be very convenient; It's pre-processed; pre-cooked; pre-packaged tasty & ready to go. I think this is in large part why obesity/under education/lower income go hand-in-hand-in-hand.

I just wanted to make the point that with a little effort, self-learnin', maybe trial and error and actually giving a fuck one can get hella healthy food for cheap too. Plus, there's a whole list of important macro/micro nutrients, other than calories, yo.
