I know I'm gonna get shit-posted for this but I'm kinda going through a feels attack here.

I'm 32 y/o, divorced, no kids. I know I'm an oldfag by /fa/'s standards but I still care too much about my style to go full dadcore or neglect myself. I mostly dress in basic slim-fitting streetwear in shades of gray and with no visible brands. I wanna cop some better looking pieces but I think I might be too old for most of the stuff here.

Yet I don't wanna dress like all the other guys my age with stripy polos, shit-fitting pastel sport-shirts, pre-faded jeans, old-guy chinos and pointy shoes or worse baggy loud board shorts, fanny packs, graphic tees and those disgusting crocs.

Add to the fact that I'm currently a poorfag though I just got called for this government job that pays decent but it involves going out to sea for months so I'm only gonna have so much time hang out and sport my fits despite the money I have.

so what does /fa/ think? any other 30+ /fa/ regulars? What do you guys recommend for someone my age?

pic related. I grew up during that time.

just don't dress in bleeding edge fads or designers and you should be good. leave that to angsty teenagers.

this sounds stupid but maybe /r/mfa would be better suited towards you.

go for the steve jobs look.
just wear black and white and grey and don't fuck around with colors. shop from oldfag-tier designers such as Hugo Boss. keep it simple. rock classic denim 511 levis and some chucka boots.

32 is probably around the age where its better to be #dadbod and dress like a high school football coach

trade the persols in for oakleys

trade the economical car in for a dodge challenger with an exhaust

and wear hiking boots and g-shock everywhere

you should be /fa/ at 30+ y/o; like really it is only excusable to be unfashionable if you are young, ie basic 12yo core. But, if 20+, you should be dressing the best you can for whatever lifestyle you live.

OP here. Thanks a lot for all the advice. I feel a little more at ease now.

I guess agree with this. Kinda sad seeing younger better looking guys dressing like crap while I go through great lengths to look half-way decent.

Still I'm kinda worried I'll hit my mid-30s or my 40s and then I'll feel like it's game over.

Time goes too fast for me.It's scary.

>>9980795

This is also what I'm working on. I'm spending a lot of time at the track and the gym and watching what I eat.

My friends and family think I'm taking it too far.

>>9980822

That's pretty much how I already dress like. It's a decent look but I'm trying to throw in some more variety once I start making more money. Thanks though.

>>9980779

I used to dress in more edgy goth/punk fits in my younger days but stopped doing that because it would just look silly at my age. I still wear my black with minimal accessories and look slightly "gothic" but I try not to look like some Hot Topic poster boy or a washed-up rock star.

I'd go to /r/mfa butI've been to 4chan for years now and I don't trust reddit too much.

get fit, or stay fit. pray you don't go bald. and you will look better than 95% of plebs out there.

as for clothes, i think #menswear with a minimalist perspective works best for non-kids (30s or older). So buy classics and dress like an italian or maybe french industrialist on his day off, or after work. Avoid foppish fedoratier english style and american preppy bullshit.

Wear blue, beige, white and greys.

So far I have most of my hair and most guys say they envy my non-receding hairline >*knocking on wood*

but still I'm looking at some bald/shaven headed inspo should that day ever arrive.

Still, I'm worried I'll turn into that creepy old guy that girls shun at bars or public places. My friends say I look younger for my age (possibly due to my kid-free active lifestyle) but still.

But also yeah I agree the fedora-tier crap. I'll do my best to avoid it. Thanks again

I don't even visit this board, but I would recommend just lurking here.
The Neurogenesis (developing of new braincells throughout adulthood) and electromagnetic influence will imbibe you with a sense of the tide of "what's in", and leave you with ideas for you to mix or incorporate.

Never too old to surf the web, yo.

Then don't.

You're a little young to be having a fashion midlife crisis. Do you look youthful? Are you fit? Do what works for you.

you've actually got a lot of options OP

to me at least a lot of well known designers only really work on model tier younger men or more either refined or bedraggled older men

look at yohji yamamoto and pic related. he often uses older men in his runway shows and tbh look way better the older you are

maybe also Ann D and the more satorial, mature side of the antwerp 6. also margiela if you're feeling more conservative.

Dude, you're 30. Wear what you fucking want -- as long as you don't go out of your way to mimic the youth, which would be sad.

Wear what appeals to you and get it over with.
