I see them regularly amongst Middle Eastern kids with custom shirts but that's about it.

Honestly, I find them a bit much. An exaggerated collar guarantees an ill fit with any sort of blazer, so the shirt is automatically relegated to being worn by itself or in very limited circumstances. Huge lapels also come off as a bit ridiculous unless you have big features, and that's also difficult to swing.

Suffice to say, I think they have some sort of place in fashion, but I've never seen them pulled off well.

Gimmicky, so never and with nothing. I can see when it's more discrete like some of the shirts Ann has done or when there's a strong conceptual bent to it, but the contrasting plackets and facings and buttons and all that shit...it's just too much.
