I kinda find it chunky but I don't wear watches in person, so... who knows.

>I kinda find it chunky

it's because the majority of people showing these off are tech nerds who have zero taste in fashion so they opt for the largest size because of
>muh screen size
>muh slightly better battery

completely ignoring how much of a brick it looks like on their skinny wrists

or they are overweight in which everything they wear would look bad on them

Ah, that actually makes sense to me. Kinda like how those fucking huge Panerai watches look totally proportional on Schwarzenegger but look ridiculous on virtually everyone else.

the watch itself is almost passable if you ignore everything except its appearance, but the stigma of actually being a dumbshit enough to buy one instead of a good traditional watch immediately puts it into trash tier

>Company specifications indicate that the gold Apple Watch will have a case weight of 55 grams in the 42mm model, presumably without the electronics and mechanism. At 18 karats, 75 percent of that weight will be gold, the remaining 25 percent being comprised of other metals.

>At present spot price, gold trades around 40 dollars per gram. This makes the Apple Watch worth right around 1650 dollars in gold melt value. It is being retailed with a composite strap for 10,000 dollars.

>Marketing material explains that the particular alloy used to create the case of the premium model possesses exceptional hardness and resistance to wear. Various metals including silver, zinc and platinum may be among those chosen to comprise this alloy, but their net content cannot amount to any more than 25 percent of the case's total weight, a mere 13.7 grams. Platinum is currently even cheaper than gold, trading at around 36 dollars per gram.

>Given that the electronic components of the Apple Watch are said to be consistent across all models, and given that the entry level version retails for 350 dollars, we can assume a combined labor and materials cost for the top range model of no more than 2500 dollars. It is therefore being sold for not less than 4 times its manufacturing cost.

tl;dr

save your money and buy a real watch

It is chunky as fuck though. Even the smaller sized one looks like you have a river rock strapped to your wrist.

Smart watches are retarded anyway. Even the apple watch, which has way more functionality than most of the android wear watches is totally pointless. Especially given the fact you're laying down like $600 (unless you buy the one made of aluminum and plastic lol) on something that will be outdated in 2 years.

>Even the smaller sized one looks like you have a river rock strapped to your wrist.

it's height is less than that of a g-shock or rolex submariner, how can it be that chunky?

smart watches are really useful is you own things that can be controlled by them (car / house / payments), i see them as something becoming more & more useful the further technology progresses

this literally applies to 1% of the apple watch consumers

>buying a piece of shit watch just because of brand loyalty

you could buy a good Rolex for that money, and unlike the Apple watch it will actually hold its value

also top kek @ 1000 bucks for the stainless steel version, steel is dirt cheap

>> No.9970995

it's only effay if you buy the 20,000 dollar one

I have one.
It's pretty good.
Not in the same league as a "real watch"
but it helps me stay /fit/ and I like smart watches.
And as far as smart watches go, it's definitely the best looking one out there.

You need to get it plated by artisian gold. They're the only ones who are colour matching the real edition. The rest are simply throwing on gold and ignoring the fact the apple watch has other shit mixed into the metals making it a lighter yellow.

Also I think it looks good but definitely not with the gold metal band. I reckon they look great, however, with the leather band and gold case.

Personally I'll still wait for a couple editions until it thins out a bit and maybe price drops too. It's too dear otherwise.
