You aren't going to like this, and neither are the mods, but I don't particularly care. You people need some outside perspective.

I think you guys really need to get hit if you're so far gone to where you think anything contrary to your safe-zone is "b8."

I really, really think you guys need to get hit. This site obviously isn't doing your intelligence any favors.

Every now and then you just come across a point of view so fallible you don't even feel any inspiration to argue against it.

Thanks for the laughs op keep at it, and don't stop ignoring criticism that's exactly how to get better

I wish this was a troll, but it can tell that it's not (by the pixels). I can also tell that you're young, in your twenties.

I wouldn't call it hedonism. It's more closely epicureanism vs stoicism minus the religion. It's an old argument that has influenced entire schools of philosophy.

Some people care about where and who makes their clothing. See, The Glory and Disgrace of Uniqlo, or Made in L.A., or an old one, China Blue. I don't want what happened in Bangladesh to happen again. The not-so-subtle brands you lambaste, market on exclusivity, which I agree does not further the craft, rather, exploits rich people with unrefined tastes. To borrow from Eric Rippert or Alan Watts, "Judge a thing by the thing, and not the brand." That's how I view clothing and coffee. Either can be treated as a ever decreasing commodity, or you can read a book like The Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee and believe that it can elevate to an art form.

For people that don't quite get clothing, I always ask, do have decoration on your walls? If you do, well, why? I will say, to decorate your body is more important and gets exponentially more exposure. Ever wonder why Cormac Mccarthy talks about clothes and fabrics so much in his books? Why did they have to source the close-to-as-original fabric for the clothes in Mr. Turner? No one would have noticed the difference in weaves. And why would Upton Sinclair talk reference clothes regularly again in Oil!? The entire history of clothing is fascinating. Everything is interesting, including spectator sports, weightlifting, which by extension, makes everything funny given enough open-mindedness. Unless if you're a stoic.

You have an abundance of Emersonian and Neitzchean virtues that you embrace. Good.

I like the cut of your jib, but you need some experience and a lot more education. I like the rebellious youthfulness, which Yohji also likes. He's a philosopher more than a dress maker. And like he says, there is nothing more /fa/.

Peace.

This is a good post, and a respectable perspective from someone interested in fashion as an art form.

I can't really say much else other than you're mostly right in your judgments of me -- maybe not everyone who is interested in fashion as an art form is a bad person, but I still think, maybe because I let myself be exposed to it so often, the way /fa/, and by extension, /mu/, the YouTube comments on Anthony Fantano videos, meme shit like "A E S T H E T I C" that ends up pissing me off when I'm trying to watch MDE or something, is terrible, contrived garbage.

But this is good. It might be too much to say, but this post made making and uploading this video worthwhile. It's not often that I get legitimately intelligent discussive offerings.

I feel as if intellectualism is somewhat shunned these days.

Anyway.

Fair enough. Video games are a waste of time, I'll admit it. I used to smoke weed daily as well, but my regular playing of video games was some time ago. These days I'm more apt to read a book or go to the gym.

Also, the first part of the video was facetious. I believe going to the gym is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

jesus christ dude, is this for real?

since you're so inflammatory, i'll be the same. this is seriously some self-masturbatory pseudo-intellectual bullshit. you're raging about shit that has little to no bearing on you whatsoever, or anyone else (your argument that people are harming themselves is extremely questionable/shaky). you severely oversimplify people and things to the point where it's no longer laughable, it's just pathetic. also, in parts of this, you're just flat out hypocritical...and these are just a few of the more obvious issues with your argument/video.

in all seriousness though, live and let live.
