the orig was more like smoke, and i wanted it to be more cloudy. also i didn't like how broad it was, so i told him to shrunk it a bit. the details on the black cloud are non-existant on my picture but are pretty good irl. one thing i prefer in the original over mine is the fact that the hand doesn't 'merge' with the black cloud, it's like a milimeter apart

i'm happy with it

Does anybody have any experience with hand/finger tattoos? I've been thinking about some very small shapes on my left hand, mostly lines/dots on my fingers and stuff parallel to the shape of the hand. Maybe in something close to fleshtone, so they wouldn't be too obvious.

For one thing, that sounds like it would hurt like a bitch, and not coverable, but I still feel like it could be worth it. I wouldn't cover the hand or anything, just a few small accents.

Thoughts? Advice? Hate and mockery?

man you are not getting a tattoo to appease others, if you really like something and someone thinks low of you for it, you'd be better off not knowing them. Sure /fa/ is highly critical, but a tattoo after all is just a means to express yourself right? Why deny the pleasure just because someone who you never met(and will probably never meet) tell you thats its not a good idea.

im all for minimalism, so something like this would be idea. Im planning on getting a sleeve starting near my elbow all the memorable dates of my life.

There was a poster here who got one done but with a wolf at the bottom which looked rather awful some /fa/g might have saved it.

The big issue with a tattoo like that is firstly without filters you wont have that brilliant contrast unless you have insanely pale skin and even then as the Ink naturally fades that will go.

Secondly all that fine detail towards the wrist will blur up like crazy and be lost.

As this tattoo relies on fine detail and contrast to look good it will therefore look shitty rather quickly

There is only so much you can do though, it will never have the same vibrancy it had when it was fresh.

Unless you could somehow laser it out and go over it again this wouldnt be possible given the faded ink which would prevent new ink from looking sharp.

IMO accounting for fading when it comes to designing a tattoo for yourself its one of the hardest parts given all the pictures on the internet tend to be very fresh of buried in filters.

im planning a sleeve, but ill probably never get it, just because it would be to expensive.
it would be a night sky, featuring some constellations, and that would blossom around my shoulder, go onto my back a bit and around onto my chest, im sure you know what i mean. then it would go into a forest around my bicep area, at some point it would become daylight, possibly featuring a a sunrise/set as a transition, but then im not sure how to continue it down or what else i want in it. im trying to think only of things that have meaning to me (for the sake of anonymity and brevity ill not elaborate on what and why) but i was thinking having a river come down and then rap around my arm and then kind of fade into more abstract, instead of sticking with the classical art style.

ive never had a tattoo or talked to a tattooist about it so idk how realistic it is, but im gonna keep thinking about it regardless.
