I have a completely autistic, pathetic question. How long should jeans be according to /fa/?

It seems like every time I see them on people they are different. Some people there is a gap between the end of the jean and their shoe, so you see their sock. Other people there's a bit of fold in the jean over the foot. Other people do the cuffing thing

I got some Levi 511 jeans and the bottom is getting some crease marks because it folds a little bit over my foot but when I sit down it sits with a small gap so it feels like it should be the right length.

Obviously not like in this image though.

There's actually not a really solid answer to that question, as you're right, people are different.

For tighter jeans, longer is generally preferred because creases in the jean develop and "stack." That's kinda oldschool /fa/, and pictures like that float around here a lot.

The picture in your OP is the baggy version of that, which is a lot more casual and not considered very fashionable. It's not bad, though, just generally out of fashion.

Lots of people on here are going after shorter lengths, i.e. ones that expose ankle. This is, in my mind, a development from the same trend in mens suiting and such. It's a polarizing look.

The length you describe sounds like just a hair short, albeit not in a bad way. I wouldn't stress over it. I'd own it and wear some crazy ass socks or boots or something.

Yeah I dunno usually the people I see with the jeans that hit at the ankle instead of the top of the shoe are wearing skinny jeans

It just looks sort of weird to me. Like with mine, I sit down and the jeans hit there, and if I cross my leg it rides a few inches up my leg. I can't imagine how short those ankle jeans are when they sit down with their lower leg exposed

Hi, since you're new, you should probably filter >>9912246

He sounds like he knows what he's talking about, but if you Google any fashion guide or blog, you'll figure out he's fucking retarded or trolling or both.

Could you post a picture of how your jeans fit on you?

The biggest mistakes I notice is that they're either 1) too baggy (ie selecting the wrong cut for your body shape); or 2) too long.

A pic would help a lot. Thankfully, it's quite cheap to get jeans tapered or hemmed at a tailor, and they'll look better on you since they flatter the outline of your legs.

Notice how I said "taper" too?

And Levi's are like $120 while a trip to a tailor is only like $15?

Please don't samebuddy yourself, Patrick Bateman. We all know you use another device to do it, so you can upload those "proof" screenshots.

shitty jeans tapered will still look like shit, likely wont sit right, etc

also I notice that altered denim almost always looks awkward. Denim really was never meant to be tailored, its unnatural

OP should get a nice pair of raws and wear them as is

Ree's right, you could have a good tailor taper them.

That being said, it's totally contingent on the value of the jeans - no point if they're like $30 Levi's or Gap jeans or something.
