I can cut the sides and back of my hair no problem, but does anyone have any tips on how to trim the top with scissors? i started cutting my own hair about 2 months ago and was only cutting the sides cause i wanted to grow out the top to brush it back. after 2 months ive discovered that my hair grows in a way thats impossible to brush back.

Wait, why are you doing this? Haircuts are not expensive and I'm skeptical you could get everything even.

As for the top? It depends on the look, but my understanding is that there is definitely a special technique to it beyond just hacking away.

is you're hair straight or curly? if it's straight its a lot harder because you gotta get at least some uniform length. If it's curly it way easier to just hack into and the differing lengths can actually offer more texture

my hair is curly and i cut my own hair (the sides and back) the top isnt long enought but i will cut it probably in 2 weeks, im using this video as reference on how to cut it (not that style, but the technique) im sure you can find videos on how to cut your hair if its straight

because they're $15 in my area and they're literally just trimming the sides most of the time

In norway it costs me 450kr+ ($60ish) for a simple cut, so cutting my own hair is pretty cool for my wallet
