by the way guys, just because someone gets "scouted" or gets ONE job doesn't mean they are a successful, beautiful model

the majority of models aren't even that good looking. requirements are: YOU NEED TO BE PHOTOGENIC!!!! you need to have correct measurements and maybe have a unique look. you don't need to be 10/10 beautiful in the face.

unless you live in new york, paris, moscow or london you will get basically no work, even if you are amazing. if you do live in one of these places, you spend your free time attending 7200 castings and if you are lucky you might land a job. unless you are a client of active, respected photographers then you aren't going to have it very easy. this is why guys like terry richardson have the power they do.

tons of ppl get "scouted" but that doesn't mean ur a model if you walk a runway once lol

not going against tim or whatever, but being a model might not be as dreamy as you really think it really is

dealing sexual harassment, not getting paid and generally being treated shitty is a part of the job

if you're a good enough model you don't really live anywhere, you move between different countries basically after the different fashion weeks. Signing with a good agency based in paris or london or new york helps though, but i know people who've been scouted in small cities around europe and are now international models

being a full time model = casting 24/7. I've never been to a casting, but i've seen one and it sucks dick, i was already confirmed.
Yeah loads of people get scouted, I would absolutely be a more successful model if I wasn't committed to being a full time student, i've had to turn down huge things like the Saint Laurent FW campaign after they'd already bought my plane ticket hahaha. You're mostly right though, if you have a 9-5 job you earn just as much as 99% male models, they just work less hours, but the hours are way more boring so it evens out
