and the backpack is also a bit overstated with those colors, i feel that a backpack shouldn't have as much going on because it could clash with different outfits. this doesn't matter if you own multiple backpacks though. Since you bought it already I will tell you that it's not the worst you could have done.

From personal experience, their jungle boots are around $30 vs $150 for genuine Altama. Their MA-1 flight jackets are $40 vs $80 for genuine Alpha Industries.

Both of those are government spec, so many different companies made them when the military needed a large order filled. But Rothco certainly is not meeting or exceeding the original spec on their gear. Reviews say their boots fall apart after 2 weeks of jungle use.

As far as that bag in your picture goes, it looks like it might be a swiss or bergans ww2 rucksack which other companies certainly will make.

Depending on your use, it may be the rothco will suit your needs though.

Get the Everlane backpack before it gets too played out. I have the light grey one, and it looks pretty good after beating it up a bit. I get a weird amount of compliments on the backpack

Also, that backpack is very comfy and carries a laptop and some notebooks fine, which is all many people need. If you need something sturdier or for a specific purpose like hiking or biking, then of course you should get something with more function.

i have a plain black backpack that is about the same size spacewise as a normal string bag, got it from walmart for a dollar.

It's really great, i can fit everything i need in it for my day every day, and its not bulky and it doesn't bounce everywhere if it's half full and i need to run.

it's like a purse. Some people think it's weird but it's so functional i don't care.

are you saying its heavy for a daypack?
if thats the case, id say its more of a travel bag than a hiking bag and naturally is going to be heavier. its a pretty attractive design aside from the single-stitching and personally i dont like bags with zippers that go all the way down because then you might done goof and spill your shit out everywhere.
