Do you think baggy jeans will ever be cool again?

moderately baggy jeans are very cool right now and I think this will naturally graduate to baggy jeans

perhaps baggy jeans rolled up could look cool, the silhouette would be interesting to work with

I don't see why anyone would wear baggy pants like that unless they were thieves or packing heat.

About this. Are we still supposed to wear ankle socks now we're not wearing skinnies? I've been wearing baggier jeans for a couple of weeks and I can't fucking figure it out

Better question is why would you need pants that baggy to pack heat? What are you packing, a fucking howitzer?

>> No.9813741

idk personally sometimes i don't wear socks if i'm not wearing skinnies because i don't really sweat at all

otherwise ankle socks are good though and i do wear them occasionally, you just can't overembellish with ankle socks like some people do with normal socks; basically you can only really wear solid colour ankle socks and mainly black white or grey

Yeah, it's funny how things come into fashion. 10 years ago, I thought skinny jeans that tapered around your ankles looked absolutely ridiculous, but then they turned cool. Now baggy clothes, which were the epitome of cool (at least in high school), look dumb. Will we look back at our fashion in 2025 and ask ourselves "I can't believe I wore that!"?

We're heading back into the 90's with fashion and design now. Deal with it. The 80's wave started fading out in '13 - '14, or so.

69 is also doing a ton of super interesting stuff only in denim or linen and their "non-demographic" approach is intense, but really cool.

These pronouncements are always silly. Aside from the fact that the 70s are what most designers have been referencing (from Michele's magpie, thrifted look at Gucci to Ghesquire's lavish apres-ski at Vuitton to the post-Mod graphic edge and luxe boho detailing at Valentino), tastemakers like J.W. Anderson and Phoebe Philo have been embracing the excess and contrived splendor of the 80s in more and less obvious ways.

Trends happen simultaneously and overlap and influence each other in ways that they didn't use to, so saying it's "now the 90's" or "now about minimal" is always going to sound ridiculous.

>> No.9818257

>>9818233
Sure it's more nuanced; but I'm really trying to boil things down into more accessible terms.

Also, minimalism is always great, since it focuses on what's necessary and tries to remove what's superfluous. That's the highest form of design.

Fashion is cyclical so yes, it will. Though I personally never liked looks that don't accentuate the form of a fit body. If you look good naked you shouldn't have the same silouette as a pear shaped manlet with bitchtits.

i dont think really baggy jeans like jncos will ever be truly fashionable in a non-ironic sense again in the next 100 years. people will try wear them but it will be more about being like 'look at me, im out there, im crazy, i do what i want' than actually looking fashionable/good

same thing with flares. ive seen people wearing flares but they are more like 60s revivalists doing it in a meta way as opposed to people doing it in a progressive fashionable way

most fashionable cut at the moment is slim straight with a high rise and i think this will stay in vogue for at least another 5 years (like skinny jeans)
