I need some help, and you seem like the people who'd know what to suggest. I've never come here before but read the sticky before posting.

I'm graduating university and I'll be teaching abroad. It's been suggested by my employers to maintain a professional code of dress, since they still occasionally get some manchild coming to class dressed badly enough the parents complain. I'm usually a conservatively dressed, collared shirts and sometimes sweaters with that, but an ex girlfriend told me the grey peacoat I was using was really tacky and common, so I guess I should be replacing some of my wardrobe. I'd like some suggestions or inspiration similar to the pic related, but I don't want to take it too far, so no tweed or bowties. I'm in shape but not muscular, and uninspiring-average across my looks. Thank you for your help.

They dress more your style.

No, don't go there. You're sending the message that /fa/ doesn't know anything about fashion besides teenage trends or casual wear. You can still dress conservatively/professionally and be fashionable without being r/mfa-tier (he's probably above this)

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm not trying to come off as a snob, or tryhard wearing a suit for the first time. Many of the people on the school board and company I'm working with are 40-50+, and they were harping particularly on one of the applicants who showed up in sweatpants. We're expected to maintain some sort of professional image for the school reputations, not necessarily full windsor knots all the time, but clean cut at the very least, you know what I mean? I'll post a few more pictures if it helps to see what I'm getting at.

It depends on your budget. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, Zara or Topman, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, anything on Mr. Porter, idk man how much do you want to spend?
