1. tiny intricate tattoos will just bleed into a smudge
2. your body is a dynamic canvas,
if you get a tat somewhere that your skin will shift, the tattoo will shift
3. tattoos are seen at a distance, be wary of tattoos that may look like something else from twenty paces
4. you don't have to hide tatoos from people, but if the tattoo itself could be found
offensive it's for the best, also keep in mind cultural norms may be different in some places
5. there is a difference between using a foreign style, and cultural appropriation
get a middle eastern tattoo, but not one with qu'ranic verses, get a russian tattoo, but not one with gang signs
6. never get a "gang tat", there are so many reasons man, just don't do it unless you have to

inks have got better, but all those tiny tattoos of roses and birds will just be smudges

I don't know what shitty tattoo artist you have, but at my studio I go to, the artists have an obligation to their customer and will tell you if they think the positioning is bad, if the design is bad, whether it'll hold up over time.

Basically if they don't think its good, they'll tell you and at times they won't do it.

I'm happy with the design and especially its orientation on my skin.
