So i was wondering how you guys start /fa/ and what inspired you to get into fashion, also how long have you been into it. Some there here I dont get some of the brands you guys here mention or the alternative vocabulary used for it. I'm still learning, teach me your ways

For a lot of people here they need a way to feel better than other people but they're not intelligent or attractive enough to do that just by existing so they wank over whatever is fotm here because they think it's fashion and try to forget the girls who bullied them at school.

hey man just start off buying well fitted clothes. if you are chubby, start losing weight so that you can go out and find new well fitted clothes. everyone here will tell you that it doesn't really matter what you wear as long as it fits, compliments or body's silhouette, and is worn with confidence. thats my take on /fa/ at least, others will tell your similar or otherwise

basic start off brands:
uniqlo
H&M
american apparel

I came here from /fit/ back when the board still liked raw denim and boots. I'm not really into fashion so much as how style influences other's perception of who you are.

Around 2010 I downloaded a rar with tons of fashion infographics I found on /rs/

Started buying button downs on eBay, but even before that i decided to wear slimmer jean and plain tees that fit, dressing minimally and I bought some costume national sneakers after my af1s wore out

Raf Simons and Rick Owens.

Only names you need to know.

A good place to start:
>plain white, black, grey, navy t-shirts
>well fitting black jeans (not skinny)

Lurk, not just /fa/ but fashion related things in general.
Don't cop high end pieces when you are not sure if you can pull them off, just keep in your back of your mind, and go back to it after a couple weeks and see if you still like it.

don't listen to this guy. all these morons give into stupid ass designer brands and its impractical

>>9694474
listen to this guy. start off basic. try to look as good as possible wearing only a tee and slim fit jeans. then you can start adding layers accordingly

I was into character design for a good 4-5 years, that implies studying fashion hardcore... and then I happened to stumble upon /fa/ during the goth ninja stage.

The inner edge was pleased, I still love drawing goth outfits.
