Sinn does make that one oil-filled diver which is quartz, but that seems more like a very specialized thing. Quartz is inherently more durable because of the fewer moving parts, but it's even better if you get a digital watch which completely eliminates all the delicate little motors and hands. I know military people are always talking about how great Suunto is, something like that is probably an even better option.

but their pricepoint is a bit crazy at €299-590.
you're better off with a g-shock then which does the same job for cheap and has a compass like those suntoo. I wouldn't go adventuring with a watch that cost me a fortune. it's pretty stupid.

We all do. There's no good ones, nobody can get the subdial spacing right. All the fakes look like they have Downs.

Fake Rolex is easy, Torobravos was very good but his site disappeared and he may or may not be coming back so you might want to wait. If not then pure-time is also supposed to be good, just pick out the one you want and then ask here to confirm that it's a decent fake because some are better than others.

when I saw a picture of it online before ordering, I was 100% set on changing the strap, but now that I have the watch, I actually don't mind it. Fuck it, here goes nothing. Assuming I've got this guy regulated correctly, and I believe I do, I'm finally putting this up for sale. Its running far from perfect from a watchmakers perspective, but I've fought with this for way too long and I know when there's just no more progress to be made without dumping a lot of money in to it. It should be keeping time very well (again, checking it over today and tomorrow), and the only thing that the average person would notice is that the power reserve is shit, only like 15 hours. However, I wore it for about a week and only wound it when I woke up and when I went back to bed and the automatic mechanism kept it well wound the rest of the time. There's a bit of rust on the minute and second hand, but its hard to see unless you look up close and with good light. The hour hand and crystal are brand new and both in great condition. The case has a good sized dig in it at the top right, but the rest of it is in pretty good condition and has patina to match the dial, which looks great with the blued steel hands. The leather strap is basically brand new, but I did accidentally order a long version so it won't fit skelly wrists. The watch itself is pretty small by modern standards, about 33mm across not including the crown, but I stopped noticing how small it was after a few days. I can post more pictures and answer questions if anyone has any. I'm asking $150 including shipping, which isn't much more than I bought it for, just because of how "poorly" the movement is running, even though its keeping time very well (should be at least, will confirm tomorrow). And dammit, we're almost at bump limit, so I'll just post this again next thread.

I would advise against buying this watch, small diameter watch in below average condition he is attempting to flip

$150 will buy more watch in better condition as well as new in modern fit in the midrange watch world.

One thing that bothers me most about fakes is that the one guy out of fiftty who recognizes the brand will also know it's a fake, not necessarily by the technical aspects only but from the person wearing it, his age/style/other clothing etc. So basically for most a Rolex might just well as be mall tier 50$ watch and the one guy who you could flex at because he knows about watches will also know yours is a fake. So what's the point really?

>> No.9683333

>>9683251
The point is that it's a nice looking watch and if you buy a quality fake then they're functionally perfectly good midrange watches at an excellent price. If you're buying a fake to impress others then it'll only end in embarrassment like you said. In my opinion, buying a real watch just to impress others is completely missing the point and it's about as embarrassing.

Would have got this one as my beater if it wasn't for the fact that the crystal is mineral.
Got a similar sapphire one without the day function instead.

Hey guys, I have a seiko snk803. Pic related. I want to get a leather strap for it. Should I get a light brown, dark brown or black strap?

dark brown for a nice contrast.
light brown (whatever that may be) and black don't work so well with this one.

>>9683572
hmm, it just depends. I would take the day of the week function over a sapphire crystal.

There are good replicas, and there are shit replicas.
Mine is good both externally and internally. The movement is actually lubricated properly, all of the seals have been greased, it's actually water resistant beyond the rolex spec for the datejust, the bracelet is very high quality, the AR is perfect, and the solid endlinks fit very well. Movement is accurate after regulation and other guys have determined that these datejusts run at a good amplitude from the factory.
And mine was $230. You can't judge all replicas by a single anecdote, you have to remember that they're all made by different "brands" despite having the same name on the dial.

I don't flaunt my watch around like a cunt so I don't have that problem. On the rare occasion that I have an interaction with somebody about my watch, it goes something like

>thanks
