9666943 No.9666943 [Reply] [Original]

I'm looking for some new skinny jeans, tried pic-related but thought they looked weird below the knee, went somewhere else and tried on some 510s which were atrocious (does anyone like jeans with a low crotch like that?). I've heard good things about Cheap Monday but I'm apprehensive about the hassle of ordering jeans i can't try on. Is my best bet just getting some 511s and tapering the legs, or are there better brands out there?

I've only owned one pair of RRL - but they were pretty damn amazing. Regular or Straight Raw something something... I can't remember which model. Kinda stiff and tight at first (obviously) but I could actualy feel them shaping to my body and softening up on a day-to-day basis in the beginning. Only problem is I used them a few months too long before first wash and ended up tearing big holes in the crotch + a big tear in one of the cuffs. But that can be fixed. They also got wet from rain several times before first wash, so they didn't fade as much as I would have hoped - but still looked great after.

to anyone buying Levi's:
make sure to try them on at a store. I had to try on 3 different pairs of 510s before I found the perfect pair. The first one I tried on was super baggy in the thighs and tight towards the calves, the second one i tried was just TIGHT all throughout, and the third one was just a perfect balance throughout the legs, and I ended up taking these home.

try on as many as you can, quality can be iffy, but once you find the one that fits, it will feel like second skin after a week of wear.

i highly don't recommend buying online because of all this.

I have no issues with my pair of 510s and I can't think of anything I would change in them. I definitely don't see the need to spend more then $75 on a pair of jeans

I have 2 or 3 questions.

I just got my Acne Eightys in the mail (https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/acne-studios/faded-black-eighties-ace-jeans/804803).). I got them off Grailed for a fairly low price. Are there any rules when washing? I gave them a wash when I opened them out of the packet, they're drying now. I turned them inside out and gave them a 30 minute spin in cold water in my frontloader washing machine. They're hanging inside out now and drying on an airing rack indoors.

My questions are are these the correct settings I should be washing on, and how often do I need to wash them? This is my first pair of higher end jeans.

Secondly, my cousin asked me for jean recommendations. He knows I browse /fa/ and know a bit more about clothing than him. Off the top of my head, I told him to check out Levi's 510s and 511s, emphasizing that fit is the most important aspect if you're dressing in fairly 'safe' clothing.
Were these the correct model numbers? I think he's going for dark blue, black, and/or palewave-lightwash.

3Sixteen, no question about it. Acne is overpriced and isn't nearly as well made as 3Sixteen.

>> No.9677628

>>9677575
3Sixteen's slim tapered is their slimmest fit I think, might be similar, but I mean they aren't really that tapered or slim at all. Acne is shit for sure, but maybe consider rogue territory, or buying some Japaense denim from Denimio

Their ST-120x is apparently famous though so

are there any raws that don't crush your balls?

I am relatively skinny except my butt is a bit larger. My unbranded crush my nuts when sitting down. I can only tolerate things with stretch in them

>> No.9677642

>> No.9677663

I have owned them for 2 years. I actually stretched them out by sitting in them wet with towels in my pants as they dry.

Also I fucking hate their low rise. My ass crack ALWAYS pokes out so I have to wear long undershirts and tuck them in.

I have a somewhat similar silhouette going on with my uniqlo chinos that have been hemmed. I think it helps that they are also a thin material. Levi 511 might be similar but you may have better luck with 513. Make sure you get them hemmed to have a full break and then wear them a lot to get the material broken in.

What do you mean they're not really slim or tapered at all? I just want a good pair of raws that aren't skin tight bur at the same time very form fitting. Thanks btw

What are SK's? How is the quality?
I'm a skelly and just want a pair of jeans that aren't skin tight because it draws attention to my abnormally thin legs. Just looking for something that fits just like Levi 511's

What's so great about the ST 120?

>> No.9677724

>>9677708
SK's are Rogue Territory's. The quality is superb, okayama denim and constructed in LA. I'd say they're a close second to 3sixteen mid-high end Raws. In terms of fit I'm sure there will be a pair that can do the job, but for raws you have to try before you buy.

Thank you!!! Never cheked this brand out before. I've had nudies and APC's and didn't like both very much. Do you think the skinny leg or slim straight would fit most like the Levi 511's?

>> No.9677765

>>9677740
I haven't worn 511's in years, so I cant say for sure, but it's gonna be the skinny leg if any. Rogue Territory is leagues better than APC and Nudies, especially since APC started using Turkish denim and moved production to Macau.

I just got some of the thin finns, Cost me $200 AUD but loving them so far, look pretty good and are much more comfortable than my old jeans even when breaking them in. Guy at the store I bought them from recommended some others called Neuws which also looked really good and were pretty comfy, around the same price.
