American Eagle is actually not bad on sale. Some people swear by their jeans. Obviously pick simple stuff.

Banana Republic is also good when it's on sale. I like their tees.

Clarks are basic, but fine. Again, I wouldn't get anything unless it's on sale.

Gap has good khakis called 'lived-in slim'

j crew is fine on sale, but it's pretty overpriced at retail.

See the trend? Mall stores are usually a mediocre value but if you pick and choose carefully from stores you know and always shop during sales you can find some good deals.
