/b/tard here. I want to get out of that miserable shithole, so decided to do something. I started working out a month ago, things are going pretty good (I wouldn'd say I look better but I feel I'm getting stronger).

The next step should be fashion, but I've no clue where to start. I fould this pic on /b/, thats why I'm here. Anybody got a hint for me?

Oh, and btw: m, 19, 1,86m, 73kg

Fuck man, that infograpic is straight out of 2009.
But yeah, it's fine for looking like a basic functioning member of society. People will think you aren't some man-child who still lives in his parents basement and kind of knows how to look okay.
It's not exciting or really interesting though. But that's fine for beginners.
The two most important things always though are fit and color.
Make sure the clothing fits well, and your colors don't clash, all of this information is in the sticky still I think. And you're on your way to looking okay.

read sticky, learn the fundamentals of clothing/dressing like color coordination, complimentary colors, textures, silhouette, all that stuff. lurk until you find an aesthetic that you really like, experiment, dont be afraid to mess up, youll learn from it.
(dont buy expensive shit right away, youll most likely regret it, dont buy fakes, you will regret them more when you cant even resell them because they fell apart the first day, make sure youre not gonna gain weight soon or all your clothes will be too small and now your wardrobe is useless)

1. don't tell people what advice they can and cannot give you. the sticky is good. you should read it. you should have read it even before you started posting, because the /fa/ rules are there. do it or gtfo.

2. read infographics on http://young-stalin.com/short.php

Don't mind most of the negative comments here - there are /fa/ggots with minimal wage jobs who spend $1000 on Tricky Ricky sneakers just to sit in front of computer wearing them. They may and may not be the majority of /fa/nons but they exist and are very active here. 90% of things they hate is considered normal and cool in real world. Don't get yourself caught in this mindless consumerist mob - don't buy expensive designer stuff unless you have some spare money and you're 100% sure it's worth it. Just because it's Raf or Yohji doesn't mean it's good by default (and I love most of their stuff). And remember - nice clothes might improve your looks but buying stuff will never fill the void inside you.

Not much has changed in the world of basics so far, that's why they're there. I would stay away from skinny cut things though. Slim through straight is the most excepted now. I exclusively wear slim cut.
When you learn how things should fit, it gets fun and you can play around with your silhouette. But most things should conform to your body, not be skin tight or baggy.
My advice for finding an eye for how well things fit is lurking the WAYWT threads here and in other places like style form, super future, r/malefashion. Even r/malefashionadvice has a best of WAYWT thread every month that's normally very good. Don't listen to the fucks here that dis reddit super hard, people dress the same here as they do there, 4chan just has some weird superiority complex. You'll learn with time.
Also, make sure to shower everyday and after working out. Also wear deodorant and if you would like, cologne. Versace and YSL make some good stuff you can get samples of for free at the mall, then buy for cheap online when you find one you like.

You learn to fashion by lurking inspiration and trying to identify how you start.

First off read the fucking sticky because if you inb4 read the sticky everythign I could tell you will be in the fucking sticky.

Get your basics down, lurk threads, start buying cool pieces you like one at a time. Don't buy anything without thinking "how will I fit this into my wardrobe?" As you buy pieces, your wardrobe will become more complex and more interesting pieces will fit in it.

It has to be good; if you're thinking of buying a cheap or fake leather jacket, don't. Ever.
Otherwise, I feel like it relies on the rest of the fit being subtle enough for it to be a standout piece.
That said, I don't know much about them; look for a guide, must be one somewhere. Pic related for some inspo.

>>9588424
Sounds like you're looking for what many people over here would call /mfa/. Not anything wrong with it, and if you do it well you'll look better than 90% of people as long as your shit fits right and you're not wearing loud pieces which you can't pull off.

An example of 'loud pieces that you can't pull off' would be the outerwear in the OP. Stay away from trenchcoats and peacoats unless you're very tall, skinny, and have enough money to pay very high amounts for one, or you'll look like a tryhard who found his dads clothes. Get a parka or MA-1 instead; they're most accessible. The denim section is correct: if you don't already, get one pair of well-fitting very high quality raw denim and it'll last you for many years, and look better with time (make sure that they're raws, there are hundreds of places to find info on this). Chinos are fine as long as they fit. Buy lots of plain crew neck tees: no pastel colours unless you have a use for them, and no obnoxious v-necks either.

Very much quality info here, thanks. Doesn't look a plain tee boring, espeacially during the summer when I don't have a "layered" look?
And about the raw denim, they seem like a hell lot of work, and I don't think I'd feel comfortable wearing jeans for multiple weeks without washing them.

Fuccboi Starter Kit (Minus expensive memewear)

6-10 Dark Coloured Tees Blues, Greys, Black (Uniqlo, H&M, F21)

2-5 White Tees

2-3 Pairs of Uniqlo Slim Stretch Jeans (these are essentially male leggings, the japanese store actually lists them as leggings)

H&M Denim is cheap and fits well

Plain looking sneakers e.g. Adidas Stan Smith

A few uniqlo oxford shirts (any pattern, just use your best judgement)

All of this together would be around $100. Beyond this, just lurk around /fa/ and just look at items that might interest you.

If you want to look for more expensive/designer items, consider buying them used from consignment stores or grailed.

If you want also here are a few smaller online stores that I generally like and think are worth looking at:

shopwithasianstereotypes DOT com

nofunpress DOT com

mrdr DOT storenvy DOT com

Monsteroutside on Etsy

Beyond this, the wiki is fairly helpful.

Listen, do you care so much about the way jeans look that you would obsessively wear the same pair for months at a time in order for them to crinkle just the right way and then wash them once before repeating the process?

Moreover, are you okay with jeans that will mark light materials (e.g. shoes, socks, shirts, sofas, beds, anything)?

Are you okay with paying more than $80 for jeans?

If you aren't okay with any of these don't bother. I bought a pair of Naked and Famous jeans, and really they just became such a hassle I don't even care about wearing them anymore. Also, small anecdote about raw denim. My parents grew up in a communist country and most jeans were unsanforized denim that you had to break in and wash and whatnot, except those pants were considered annoying horseshit and if you had new jeans literally everyone would pick on you. The only reason it is popular now is that it is a trend that focuses on the idea of your clothes being unique to you.

don't follow anyone's advice from here, not even mine but it's up for you to decide what you want to do

honestly start looking at fashion blogs or find pictures of styles you like and try to curate your image around what you see. if it's a bit too hard, then just ask around or snoop around clothing sites until you find what you like.

don't let anyone else get in the way of you developing your own taste

Honestly, if you don't have much interest in fashion the only important thing is to buy things that fit and work well together. That's pretty easy to do. Just look at inspo or maybe even guys on the street you think look cool. Then reflect on why you think it looks cool/projects something interesting and try to do the same. Then you start to get it, you figure the rules, the why and what and you'll be comfortable building your own style.

If you get into fashion as a hobby, lurk the board, but read between the lines as it's pretty shitty around here since last year. Fashion's cool and only as important as you want it to be.

And dressing nice (boring also) is easy

Also, learn your clothing sizes. And try out different sizes, say if your buying a jacket and it isn't clear cut that you take a 48, try the 46 or the 50 depending on your height body etc

>And dressing nice (boring also) is easy
You might experience it like that, but for me it's simply not. Parents have a shit taste, brother has, most of my friends around me, basicly fashion/ style was never a topic when I grew up.
But I don't think it's hopeless, so I try to learn as good as I can.

No. Sure browse inspi threads but dont buy just because ooh that looks cool on that guy. Concepts are fun but different builds, body shape etc might make or break it when you try to emulate a fit.

Work around your build and body shape. Big baggy tops and skinny bottoms dont work if you're average/short (trust me on this tried it myself). Instead you might go for something tapered. You'll learn this as you gotranke
