here is an example /g/ would argue is in house

in house means the watch is designed assembled and produced inside a specific region dedicated to time pieces.

/g/ has a looser definition meaning that the parent company who owns the brand name also owns some sort of facility that produces movements in another section of the world usually in a third world or in korea due to cheap labor.

while he bad mouths tage heuer for being a nothing brand, little does he know if he mentions that a seiko 5 is "in house" then so is a heuer, so is a hublot, so is an oris so is a tissot....all these nothing watch brands are all the sudden desirable when you loosen the slang terms.

but thats only because he's an idiot.

there are a number of seikos out there (grand seiko, credor, seiko- proper) who market out side of the reach of the lower income to produce spectacular products that are sullied by the usage of the brand on low end garbage.

so if hermes kept making amazing scarves but also made Hermes scarves 5 and sold it exclusively at walmart and was made of polyester and sloppy silk-screen printing

people would assume the hermes label meant nothing

>> No.9599565

>>9599533
There is literally nothing wrong with the 7S26. Its a perfectly good low-end movement, you seem to have trouble understanding that making cheaper things requires some sacrifices. I can live with having a plastic date wheel and no handwinding in exchange for a very reliable and sturdy movement that is in many ways superior to the chink shit and slav shit that it competes with in its price range. In fact it's so good that it's the basis for the other midrange Seiko automatic movements and they share a whole lot in common. As far as it being Malaysian, yeah that's too bad but all in all I don't think it really matters all that much which pacific island chain full of small eyed people my watch is manufactured in.

That said, I would love it if there was a higher-end sibling to the 007 with the same looks but higher quality finishing (for the love of god please line up tickmarks on the bezel with the ones on the dial) and the 4R36 or 6R15 or whatever movement. I personally like the styling of that watch more than any of the higher end monsters or sumos or marinemasters or whatever.

you continue looking at these low end watches

the orange monster/black monster is $159.99 and features a Malaysian movement as well

I'd say that a seiko 5 is inhouse because the movement is of seiko design and made in a seiko factory, just not one in Japan. Not that it makes it more desirable, because it's still got a malaysian movement and overall inferior quality to a mainline seiko.
The 7s26 movement is perfectly fine and the ones in the mainline watches are just 7s26 derivatives.
I've never bitched about TAG heuer being a 'nothing brand', you're confusing me with archieluxury. what I have said is that their low end watches are basically swiss fossil.
You could make the argument that oris and tissot are inhouse because their movement manufacturer is from the same parent company. They're still different companies, though, and the movements aren't of their own design. they're movements that predated the swatch group, even.
Seiko doesn't even sell their good stuff outside of japan, and their lower end stuff is sold to different markets entirely. Kinetics and solars are basically all that's sold in the US, and seiko 5s are generally marketed to south america.

that site helps if you just want to quickly look up the specs of a movement, but a good knowledge of movements is just something you acquire after you've been into watches for a long time.
You either develop a feel for what's good and what's not or you post it here and somebody who does tells you. Or you can just look at the brand of the movement, anything ETA or seiko is good at the low end and basically everything bar retarded negro watches like hublot are good at the high range.

>>9600436
>or you post it here
or in /g/, there are likely more people who know there
forgot to add that you need to evaluate the quality of the movement with the price of the watch. a standard grade ETA movement is a great value in a $300 watch but is really not a good choice if it's inside a $1000 watch. but a top or elabore grade ETA movement would be.

Due to the proximity with France, the city start to become more and more like Paris, aka riddled with muslims and other parasites. French people themselves are the main parasites, they work in swiss and live in france, therefore stealing jobs from swiss people (since french people accept to work for less, similar to pakis) making money without having to deal with the our taxes and shit, since everything is expensive here.

I was born in the city, and since then all i saw was decay. Give it a few years and a good part of Switzerland will be in a similar situation as UK.
