I didn't restyle my hair before taking these pictures so you could see my problem. I'm wondering whether or not I should cut off this clump of hair to the side of my part which naturally falls in the opposite direction of my cut. Would I be cutting off something important? It looks fine immediately after styling and applying product, but later in the day I would have to keep pushing it back into the correct position (where it more or less has the same silhouette as buzzed hair). I'd be cutting it at an angle so it tapers with the buzzed section below it.

I'm thinking of learning to cut my own hair. I have a pretty simple cut using a 4 on the sides and scissors to clean up the top short as well. I usually pay $15 for this but it gets ragged between because I'm a cheap mo-fo. Does anyone cut their hair similarly? I'm not scared of using the clippers but I know using scissors can get tricky with hair.

Opinions? Tips? Should I cut my own hair?

I cut my own hair. It is not nearly as good as if a quality professional cut it, but for simple cuts it works okay. A little advice:

1.) Go fucking slowly. Obvious.
2.) Cut each section to the desired length on its own (front, sides, and back).
3.) Use scissors to blend each side together.
Make sure to use two mirrors and look at it from every angle. If you seen any lines, get rid of them.

Again, it gives a passable haircut, but nothing extraordinary. If you want a really great haircut you're much better off with a professional.

I've been growing my hair out, and it's super thick. Having had my hair short, shaved, or buzzed most of my life, I'm at a loss with what to do with it now. i can't think of anything /fa/ to do with a receding hairline except shave it all off or try rogaine or something. if you're sting, you can get his haircut and it might work
or if your hairline isn't quite as receding as sting's, you could try to get your hair like 80s morrissey

Need some advice on what do next.

I grew my hair out pretty long, and I usually wet it and slick it back with a comb but it's been a while since I've gotten a haircut. I usually get somewhat of an undercut, but not super short on the sides and nothing up top bc Ive been trying to grow it out long (def DO NOT want to man bun it though)

Is your hair thick or thin?

If you get super light hair it means you'll probably have to add toner as well. And obviously will damage your hair more.

It's probably best to get it done at a salon first if you have no experience, they might be able to help you with colour as well. And ask them how to maintain it yourself.

So I'm not sure what to do with my hair. I asked about it a couple of weeks ago but had to leave the thread before I could get a response.

My pics are just with some texturizing spray I'm experimenting with. I'd like to get the Mamoa hair, but afraid I can't pull it off due to cheeks and inability to grow good facial hair (my pic is trimmed stubble, not the extent of growth). I think I can pull off the Hemsworth look, but I think it looks too effeminate, so if there's something similar that looks more masculine, I might be open to it.

I've tried man bun, and it doesn't work well for me, so I just need to get it cut and shaped up.

I am for sure in needing of a haircut today, but im not sure how Id like it to get cut. I do no poo and shampoo and condition when I need to. When my hair gets this long, it gets thick and curly/wavy.

Can anyone give me some advice which hairstyle should I go with? I have thin and straight hair with heart shaped face.
I would go for trendy hairstyle that is shorter on the sides but the problem is that I have almost flap ear, it's not completely flap but if I cut my sides short, it will emphasize my ears too much.

I've been growing my hair out for a while, but I'm thinking of cutting it soon. Unfortunately, I have really straight, thin, lifeless hair. I've come to understand using some sort of hair product might help with that, but I have no idea what haircut to get that would look good. Whenever I get a short haircut, my hair lies flat on my head and looks awful, so I'm not really sure what sort of short cut would look good.

Disastrous advice. Combing wet hair breaks more follicles than combing dry hair, -causing- frizz.

Baking soda, about a teaspoon of it. Massage it into your scalp with lukewarm water until it's a paste. Avoid hot water, it dries your hair out. This will scrub out a lot of dead skin and excessive oil.

After that, you need something mildly acidic like apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to neutralise the traces of baking soda left. Again, about a spoonful. Baking soda is alkaline, and mildly acidic stuff softens your hair and removes the slightly dry, chalky effect baking soda leaves. It shouldn't leave a smell if you rinse thoroughly (again, with lukewarm water.)
