Everyone I know says Stan Smiths are ugly. I don't get it. They're white shoes, how could they possibly be offensive?

I posted this in another thread.

They've changed Stan Smiths. I saw them in the store and they look different before, and much worse. The leather is thinner and wrinkly and of inferior quality. The sole is cream instead of white, ruining the cleanliness which is the appeal of stans in the first place. The green tab at the back is a dull suede. The tongue is thin and ratty and the underside isn't padded at all.

I feel sorry for anyone who cops the new stans.

I think you can still cop the earlier version if you know what you're doing, it has something to do with the serial numbers on the website or something similar, I can't remember.

I'm sure someone can find or post the image that was posted in which they explained how to go about getting the better quality shoes.

They're incredibly cheap and basic. I have a pair as beaters. Navy tab and yellowed sole.
