I understand that texture is very important in a cohesive monochromatic outfit but its just.... easier.. to wear all black pieces (even of basic construction and low-cost fabric) and look decent-ok. If you're just talking about slim-fit suits like the ones you get at J.Crew, you're fine.

Also, if you want a versatile suit I'd advise getting a charcoal one because that would be acceptable at both a funeral and other occasions. Black only works for funerals.

Monochrome is only "interesting" as the pieces. White tee + black jeans looks better than black errything in my opinion
