The whole point of the gum sole is so that they look vintage, which yellowed soles will achieve with better results.

in most cases they look different especially because gum sole is brown and sometimes slightly transparent and yellow soles are piss yellow

i think gum soles can make a shoe look more like a boot (like on the duckboot AF1s) or like they have crepe soles or something but yellow soles just makes them look old/vintage.
