My Clarks were under $100. That's not a lot for a leather boot. $180 for denim is rather premium. Vietnam is making some pretty good stuff though, I much prefer buying from them over China.

Well it is denim, I don't know how complicated you expect it to be. I think the quality control is more important. I don't know the difference between wages but Vietnam is much less oppressive than China.

Wages and working conditions are about equally bad, I think China is marginally cheaper though.
