Last frag/gen was less than 100 posts. Just a kid, and they killed it.

Who's better? Parfumo or Fragrantica?

Parfumo seems to bias a little towards German dadcore stuff, but it's a small price to pay for some pretty solid reviews and a high literacy/comment ratio. Top 12 is more interesting too.

Fragrantica has those nice pictures representing the notes though.

Basenotes is better than both, and god is la nuit overrated. I wish Turin would have published a scathing review in his 2009 guide revision but I guess it was released too late that year.

But it's anosmia awareness day there, so.

Wait a minute. Did the last frag thread get deleted for anosmia awareness?

not sure about which one is better, but if i'd need to judge by this picture, fragrantica is a lot closer to the truth with their top 12 imho, i don't consider myself the biggest nose, but i have never heard of 3, 5, 7, 9, 10 on parfumo's list whereas on fragrantica's list those are all well known scents

Only like 5 of the Parfumo top 12 can be purchased without a bunch of hassle. The others are limited editions, discontinued, or barely marketed (Opium EDP is basically you have to buy it from the YSL website).

Parfumo probably doesn't weight for the volume of ratings. Just a high percentage with a certain threshold of ratings.

It looks like Fragrantica considers actual volume of ratings, not just percentage. So what you see there is what you see at the store.

I once tried to date a girl with anosmia, it didn't go well.

> start making out
> can't get over BO scent
> maybe I should bring it up, maybe right now's a good time
> yeah, she's got anosmia, so she's probably used to it
> what anon? you're saying I smell??? Like what???
> um... well...
> ...like weed?
> Y-Yeah like weed.
> And you want to stop because I smell like weed?
> Y-yes

I'm still glad this experience is over.

Parfumo.

Not sure about the English version though, but the German version is better than Basenotes and Fragrantica.

fragrantica seems to have more women and is more casual, while basenotes has more men and a little more on the fragrance-snob side. parfumo is sort an extra third website to me, and this is pretty accurate

I wore A*Men Pure Malt and this Asian milf wouldn't stop smelling me. I got to fuck her.

Then I wore Azzaro, the one with Enrique Iglesias, expected to get hit on by Latina chicks. I was right and also got hit on by this Jamaican or Haitian chick, I don't know.

Currently wearing Creed Aventus. I get a lot of compliments from both sexes, maybe even more so with the previous two, but not to a point where they go crazy like with Azzaro and A*Men.

I have reservations about that list since it has one million and jean paul gaultier. I don't really give a fuck about parfumo or fragnatica.

Yeah man. I didn't think anything would happen since imo it smells way too sweet, like being in a cookie corner store. Like you said, it was genuinely for my own enjoyment.

She was actually a pretty good-looking woman too -- Japanese, tight blue floral dress, her hair was short and light brown, and still looked pretty young and fit though you can tell the age. You can never be bolder than your fragrance though. The pure malt was half the battle, but seriously, that's pretty much what she did most of the time...smelling me.

You know you did good too if they ask what you're wearing.

Has anyone tried Encre Noire Sport? I'm shopping for spring fragrances right now and it really intrigues me. Definitely going to get Guerlain L'Homme L'Eau Boisee and probably Lanvin L'Homme since its so cheap. Carolina Herrera 212 Men and Gucci Pour Homme II are on the list as well

CDG 2Man is probably the entry point. It's hard to go wrong with that one.

CDG Wonderwood if you like wood with your wood, and some incense.

CDG Incense Kyoto is lighter and more unisex. It's a little too body-washy for me but that opinion is based on one wear.

Gucci Pour Homme II could work too. It's definitely more mainstream, and probably more all-purpose than the CDGs, and the only Gucci in production that I would consider.
