Just as retarded. A saftey razor may only be 70% as good as a straight razor, but it's also only 10% of the effort. A straight razor needs a rest day, you need to sharpen the blade yourself, it's more expensive, requires more care... I just don't see they payoff.
Meanwhile a saftey razor takes only a marginal amount of effort more than the newest Gilette 10 blade skinraper 5000 and gives a lot better results, especially if you have sensitive skin.
