On an average day, I'd say about 1/4 of women I see are wearing leggings. I'm a 19 year old guy, and I just wish it were socially acceptable for men to wear leggings in public. I own 3 pairs of leggings (I've ordered online) and I wear them around the house. I like wearing them far more than my jeans, but when I go out and drive to the store or something, I've got to switch into my jeans, because I know the social repercussions I would incur for being brave enough to wear pants I like wear and think are comfy out in public.

I wear briefs under my leggings so my bulge is hardly noticeable. If the argument is that you can see every detail of a man's anatomy, the same is true when women wear leggings, but in a free mature society we acknowledge our anatomy instead of trying to pretend women don't have bums and men don't have crotches. As long as it is isn't distracting it's alright. Leggings are just pants. There are leggings made for men. I don't get why it's not a uni-sex item of clothing.

You don't, really. You either come to terms with essentially crossdressing in public or you don't wear thigh-highs/knee-highs with shorts. Basically, it can be "pulled off", sure, but not in a way typically associated with masculinity or anything menswear.

That is the argument. Please don't think you can get away with just wearing briefs if you want to wear leggings. I promise you, at least people will be grossed out and/or offended, and judging by the fact that you seem pretty self-conscious about wearing them in public, I'm assuming that you don't want that kind of reaction.

Invest in a dance belt or something similar if you want to wear leggings in public. I dance, so I have to wear tights all the time, and I can tell you that it looks so much better than just wearing briefs. Plus, if you wear briefs, then you get "panty" lines, which will look like shit.
