I recently got a job and have to start wearing semi-formal business attire (basically everything except a blazer).

After buying some shirts from the local store I realised how bad the fits are. As such I was wondering what /fa/'s opinion on this is.

Should I just buy what I want as long as it reasonably fits then pay to have someone tailor it properly? And if so, what is the best place to do that? I've read about shop-based tailors - meaning tailors located in the same store as where the clothes are sold - are generally not so good.

Literally any advice, inspo, whatever is appreciated.

Thank you for pointing that out. I thought it would have been obvious it wasn't me but I guess not.

Does anyone have advice specifically regarding shirts? Is it possible to buy a shirt from a store and have it tailored to fit better? Or is that only really possible with pants?
