don't even bother with the tshirt section at any goodwill. literally only blood drive/elementary school field trip/relay for life graphic tees.

the sweaters at most thrift shops are usually on point though and if you're lucky sometimes you can score some decent outerwear.

if you're willing to put in the effort of getting your bottoms altered, i've always had good experiences thrifting denim and trousers.

something about buying shoes from thrift stores seems grody to me so personally i stay away.

It really depends on location. A thrift store is nothing but a trash dump for clothing that you don't want to pay dump fees on. They allow you to avoid those fees as long as the clothing of a certain quality. What neighbourhoods are going to dump their shit at that particular thrift store? Working Class neighbourhood for Work Wear, Nice vintage Clothing comes from old folks homes and neighbourhoods catering to them., Universities are a mixture of cheap as shit clothing and high end wear depending on how many rich students/exchange students it has. Upper Class neighbourhoods tend to have designer items.

Stay away from middle class clothing though. Unlike working class neighbourhoods who will at least invest in good workwear/footwear, the middle class is indoctrinated into thinking its smart for buying cheap shitty mall clothing.

You realize that it really isn't that big of a deal. Especially when most clothing in Thrift Stores has been both washed and has been sitting in a closet or room corner for months. And that most clothing really doesn't retain moisture or sweat or skin cells for very long. I think the best thing you can do is logically investigate the subject and the actual dangers by reading scientific articles about it. They will tell you that there is no problem with used clothing, just make sure to wash it when you get home if you're uncertain.

I.E. If you're buying used shoes, disinfect them with alcohol and give them some love with a shoeshine kit.

The sleeves are too short and the shoulders are wrong. You can see bulging on the left shoulder where the shoulder pad is pushing out into the sleeve. Combined with the too noticeably short length of the sleeve. Like most second hand blazers,it fits everywhere but the two places it needs to. Unless you purchase a suit that is made by a tailor for you, you should always bring it to a tailor. Just remember that they can't work materials. And that the higher quality the construction (Full Canvas vs Half Canvas) the easier it is to alter the garment..

1. Formal Suits and Formal Jackets have to fit in the shoulders, and they have to fit in the arms. That means the shoulders fit snuggly and properly without any odd bulges, and the sleeves are the right size for the arm. If either of these are wrong, than you're in trouble. They basically require the tailor to build a new jacket from the old materials. The first time I brought such an item to my current tailor, they told my up front that it would cost more to fix than I paid to purchase it.

2. The sleeves can be lengthened or shortened. They can be lengthened by as much material as is hidden in the sleeve, and shortened until the point that the sleeves start to look "unnatural". Working buttons will cause a lot of problems when it comes to lengthening, as they will look strnage if you extend the sleeve and can be sacrifices if you're shortening the sleeve.

3. The jacket can be lengthened by the amount of fabric hidden within the body of the jacket, and brought out by the same amount.

4. Comparatively, the jacket can be shortened until it looks unnatural. The

5. Reconstructing Lapels and Collars is really expensive.

6. The one thing you can do is bring the jacket in. First, make sure it fits perfectly in the shoulders, lapels, collar, and sleeves. Basically the entire upper chest area. IF it fits here, than the lower area (Stomach/body) can be brought in by a couple of sizes depending on the make of the jacket. For example, if a S jacket fits you in the shoulders and sleeves but is too loose in the body, it can be made into roughly XS sizing. M to XS is pushing it, but can be done depending on exactly how roomy it is.

>>9467096
Are you being serious or just talking out of your ass?

1. Any tailored suit/jacket/coat needs to fit in the shoulders. Having a tailor fix the shoulders would cost too much and wouldn't guarantee a good job. The shoulder line needs to follow the natural shoulder. Also, tapering sleeve is very much possible for a suit.

2. Sleeves can also be lengthen/shortened by the shoulder head and is usually the method if there are working button holes.

3. & 4. Don't touch the length unless absolutely necessary. Even then, you don't want to do more than a 1/4 - 1/2 in, it will throw the balance of the suit off.

5. Who the fuck does this? The only thing close to what you're saying would be fixing the collar roll and that is truly expensive. Better to not get a jacket with this.

6. General order when looking at tailored clothes -
Style/design - This determines the color, fabric, shoulder type, lapel design, length, button stance, etc. These are things you'd normally look at first and cannot be changed.

Shoulder fit - First thing you look at when you're putting on a jacket.

Chest fit - This can be altered slightly, however not much room is given.

Everything else - Most everything else can be altered within reason.
