I buy a lot of my stuff at J.Crew, but now I'm really starting to like Club Monaco too. Gravitypope is pretty okay for shoes. I also like Jonathan + Olivia but most of the brands they carry are kinda expensive so I don't own a lot of stuff. The Bay has fancy designer stuff like Theory at some of their locations, but it's all way too expensive for me.

Eaton Centre is a really bad mall because all the stores are really small and get lots of visitors, so there will be low product choice and also very few sale items. If you want to shop at mall stores, you should go to a bigger mall like Yorkdale so that there will be a larger product range, or go to one of the less popular malls because there will be way more stuff on the sale racks.

I've never really checked out Club Monaco in the past because their stuff looks really adult and boring, but they actually have a lot of nice stuff that fits me really well so I'm planning to buy some more sweaters and stuff this week.

I've been to Vancouver and Toronto, but I live on Vancouver Island right now. I'd have to agree with. >>9461259 . Ignoring the West Coast Hippies and Fusion vs East Coast Prestige and Yuropean tradition differences.. It is always raining in Vancouver. Unless you're not bothered by constant rain and grey overcast skies, don't bother. You at least have an excuse to own many coats of different lengths and variety. Toronto has more variable weather and temperature, it gets a lot more snow, and gets a lot hotter. Vancouver is median in temperature, rarely going past -10 C in the summer or 30 C in the winter.

In terms of transporation, Toronto wins. Vancouver has the sky train, but it isn't quite at the level of the Toronto subway. Buses systems are similar. When I last visited Toronto, I was blown away by how easy it was to get around vs Vancouver.w

In terms of population and businesses, they're utterly different. Vancouver is the ASIA side of EuroASIA, whereas Toronto is the EURO side of EUROasia. Vancouver is full of rich Middle Eastern, East Indian, and Asian people with some russians and british expats in terms of overall population. It's quite honestly only a matter of time before there starts to be a "Vancouver" curry culture and a real canadian style curry because of these populations. And so the city is full of businesses they frequent from fashion to food.

I felt like Toronto had much more of a European heritage and more immigrants from that side of the continent. Combined with its more "old World" feel, and all the concrete vs Vancouver's greenery , it's not really comparable.

>> No.9461473

Thanks for the essay, but Toronto is actually more diverse than Vancouver. In fact, Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world.

A) This was specifically about Toronto vs Vancouver.

B) Reading Comprehension. Do you have it? I thought not. I was specifically talking about what cultures that multiculturalism is dominantly made up of. Vancouver's diaspora is almost entirely Asian. Toronto's is more influenced by European immigration as a whole. I'm well aware it has a large immigrant population.

C) Finally this was Vancouver vs Toronto transportation. Not the world vs Toronto Vs Vancouver.

Canada is boring. It's greatest exports are its natural resources, including its talented citizens. It creates hard working civic minded professionals with high quality quality educations. But it has nowhere for them to work and nothing for them to do, so they all leave Canada once they get old enough. The only exceptions are Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. But only so many Canadians can live in those cities. Anyone with talent runs off to America, Europe, or Asia the moment someone offers a good enough deal to lure them from free healthcare. (Usually free healthcare and enough money to pay off student loans).

That exports also means that there is no one left to build up Canadian culture either. It's a remnant of being a branch of England for so long, and basically serving as an extended recruiting pool for many things

I've traveled to a lot of cities, but not enough to give an accurate opinion, sorry.

I have been to the 'popular' cities that usually come to mind like NY, Paris, London, Tokyo, LA etc., and nearly every country in East/Southeast Asia, but that's not really a good representation of the whole world.

If I had to choose the best city to LIVE in, I'd base my decision on transportation, safety, # of people (the more the better), modernness (is that a word?), how pretty it is, and how many things there are to do (shops, restaurants, nature etc)

Like I said, Toronto is decent, but it's way too quiet, and there isn't much to do. I feel the same way towards Singapore - it's even more modern than Toronto, but it's so boring just because so little people live there.

My favorite city so far has been Seoul (NY is a close second), but I definitely doubt it is the best city there is. There are lots of places that I still want to travel to in the future. But yeah, I guess you can't really say there is a single best city because it depends so much on subjective preferences.

I applied to Business.

I picked the "Accounting and Finance" program. It seems like it'd be easier to get a job than if I picked the marketing/human resources/management bullshit that you can learn yourself with common sense.

I'm not nearly as good at math as I want to be yet, but I hope I'll be all right :^)

lol I am returning to Toronto then Vancity after 2 years in Sweden.

Fuck me, maybe I got used to life here but I skyped some friends in Canada and cannot believe how shitty people dress back home. T shirts, polo shirts, relaxed fit jeans, straight leg jeans, crew necks.

Places like Old Navy do not exist over here, at worse you're shopping at some shit place like Dressmann and that's if you are an over-40 dad. In general even if you are a poorfag your pants are properly fitted and tapered and your overall fit is clean and are freshly groomed. Even welfare ass somalis.

Why does the average Canadian not have a clue how to dress? It's a national fucking embarassment.

Also your women are fat and if I wasn't deported I would fucking stay forever here.

Ah shut up. A lot of Scandinavians dress like the worst metrosexual hipsters ever. There are plenty of good Swedish & Danish brands out there, but 90% of the time people wear ugly ass sweat pants or other sport clothes, even in the city.

and first result for Swedish men's fashion.

Look as a Canadian living in Sweden there are 1000 reasons why Sweden is a superior country but since this is a fashion forum.

Your cheap clothing stores are Old Navy. That store is for people who literally do not care what they put on their body.

Our cheap clothing store is H&M where for 20 bucks you can get items that make you look great until they rip.

>straight leg jeans
Straight Fit jeans can look decent if you're wearing the proper inseam length, and it hugs the waist and thigh so it isn't baggy. You can't fix the later, but you can easily fix any bagginess by the ankle by cuffing them so they can fall straight and not bunch up. If it's selvedge denim, it's even better since you can show off the white wings and contrasting colored line on the inseam. I usually wear them with Doc Martens and a blanket lined trucker jacket for a nice, comfy winter fit, and it works well in the area I live, which is a historical district full of indie-folk hipsters.
