I do love Gareth Pugh even if his clothing does sometimes look a bit zaragoth.

Fuck Pugh

>hey hey Rick I have an idea will you give me lots of money to do it?
What is it garebear?
>well I'm going to make really expensive clothing but make it unwearable
but gareth doesnt it have to sell to make a profit
>well sure we'll have like one customer Bjork probably
Your'e going to need more than that to be successful
>b-but its my aesthetic its my ART
well I guess can you atleast make your stuff look different?
>no I will only make tops with huge shoulders and geometric silhouettes with skinny pants but I'll make sure to make every piece so outlandish no one can tell that I'm just doing the same thing over and over
>I sure do love squares Gareth repeats over and over again bringing our Lord Rick Owens to the brink of insanity
o-ok *bites pillow as gareth pugh fucks him brutally
he writes another check for one of the biggest hacks of our time an his soon to be successor and cries mournfully in his witch wife's arms

A lot of /fa/ggots easily fall for all-blackness in the beginning, and they tend to stay with only that. Remember that when you add colors to the mix,it's actually harder to combine different garments cuz the tones have to match. Also, when you wear all-black, some people get obsessed with only the silhouette. A tip is to search for extremity within subtlety.

My favs are Junya Watanabe and Hiroki Nakamura/visvim.

Last one, you can find the rest on his website.

Pretty interesting but I really dislike how the clothes draw your eye from a significant part of the torso to his arms/legs. Though the material looks extremely comfortable

What I'm interested in changes pretty quickly. I'm not spending too much time in the nitty gritty so it tends to be stuff that's kind of trendy at the time, like Acronym or Cav Empt. Right now I'm also liking Jan Jan, I just want to go all comfy and slouchy all of the time.

Overall though I guess Rick is still my king. With him I can always feel a strong vision behind a show even if I don't always like the clothes per se, and I admire how down to earth and honest he comes across in interviews.

Put a little more elegantly

>Maybe I'm just letting my bias get in the way but to me Pugh has always put his conceptual designs before actually making wearable clothing that people will buy. Sure he can make some beautiful pieces and of course is a very accomplished designer but he puts out so many similar pieces from year to year and its the same angular harsh angels over and over . Rick only bailed him out because he saw potential in Pugh and I'm sure Rick hoped Pugh would change his designs for something more wearable so he could become successful and not make Rick's investment go to waste. Pugh didn't do this and continued to put out very conceptual pieces. Don't get me wrong I love more abstract and conceptual designs, Rei is a perfect example. CDG mainline shows put out some of the strangest and most unwearable pieces out there but she can do it because she has so many fucking lines and designers bring her. She doesn't have to worry about making stuff she finds inspiring or truly creative because she knows Junya(well Junya does do some crazy shit), Homme Plus, shirt, and all the other lines and designers behind her are racking in tons of money. Pugh doesn't have any of this he just has his main line. I really don't like judging designers purely on how wearable their clothing is because it takes away from the most important part of fashion which is the clothing. But when it comes to Pugh I think it needs to be taken into consideration. This isn't to say that CDG or Pugh never put out normal pieces either, they do on both sides but Pugh puts out so few it's not enough to sustain his brand.
