Why is it that when browsing Grailed or similar, I see people who have owned an item of clothing such as a tshirt or pair of shoes that they purchased 2 years ago, but claim to only have worn once or twice?

Is it a common thing to buy Raf shoes and wear them once before selling them? Doesn't that seem kind of pointless?
