which out of these two shoes would be the best CP achilles alternative?

Or should I just save up for the real thing? I've been looking at them online but they're all around the $400 mark so I would get mad taxed trying to get them to NZ.

they have a sporty look and more ridged silhouette, but its probably as close as you're going to get without going into re-branded converse with minor adaptations

Tbh OP, I would just save up for the CPs. I was in a similar situation and ended up buying stan smiths. I was unsatisfied with them the moment I got them. I really wanted cps and the stans felt exactly what they are, a cheap alternative. Tbh if you want the achilles but can't afford it you would be better off just not buying anything at all.

i think cps are nice but nowadays lots of companies are making alternatives that are just as nice and the only response cps have had is to up the pricing. they're not any better than nat standards, etc. and everyone is commissioning the same portfugal and italy factories to make sneakers on the magrom for them nowadays

although tbh the vans in your op dont look much like cps but they're a great pair of shoe, i think the lace size, number of eyelets, and side stripe work to make a really well proportioned shoe
