i'm not even going to begin discussing anything said in this thread except this, but acne has always been a go to brand for insecure heterosexual people, even when they only did jeans, what, a decade ago? Mid-2000s Acne deserved a lot of critique for plagiarizing unknown, non-western designers (a specific suede jacket comes to mind, which was a direct ripoff of some mexican designer's) and only in 2010 (or 09, dont remember) did they release their first solid collection.

Quality since then has had ups and downs, with some really good pieces and some really bad pieces and a noticeable difference in construction quality with regards to their jeans between 2011 and 2012.

You can't really be surprised when you have brands that are trying to ensure they get the best, buzziest press. Not to knock on the work that he's done at Loewe, but a huge part of the reason J.W. Anderson's leadership of that brand has been how he's redefining luxury menswear. Granted, not many people have a very strong idea of what Loewe is about anyway so he's got a better blank slate to work off of, but the massive 60's, 70's narrative that's worked its way throughout a ton of ready-to-wear is perfectly ripe for this sort of proposition. A big part of the original 70's era was freedom from traditional categorizations of man and woman and it's far from surprising that Anderson would take the moment and run with it given his well-documented history of blurring gender lines in his eponymous collection.
