What is the difference between the old stan smith with the leather patch on the back and the new stan smith with the suede? They look almost the same, but one has a darker sole, I think. I heard that the later one has better quality leather, but some people prefer the original.

Which does /fa/ prefer? The price difference is £1 at the mall near me, so I am not sure which to get.

Pic related.

The one on the left does have higher quality leather, it's visibly different just holding it and you can feel it too.
When I wore my cheaper ones they fucking stabbed the back of my foot but the premium ones didn't cause any discomfort at all.

Somebody else has said the same thing as me but the premiums are actually as good as SLP sneakers, the ones seen here.

amerifag here,

i ordered the right ones over here online. i don't think they sell the left ones in the states. i have heard the left [euro] shoes are higher quality leather also. i heard the us shoe's toe box creases easier, ill post a pic in a min.

Left: "Vintage" or "80s" Stan Smith
- Lighter color "fairway green" tab
- Tab is suede instead of leather
- Yellowed sole
- Leather is "neowhite", not pure white
- Leather is also supposedly "premium leather", but I could not feel any difference
- These are actually the "old" ones because they're modeled after the originals

I'd get those.

I've never tried SLP sneakers, but I would be very concerned if they had the same paper-thin leather as Stan Smiths.

SLP shoes have been going downhill for a long time now, the chelseas are testimony in the way they're produced.

but creases are perfectly welcome on leather shoes right?

Are the tongues different in the UK and US on both versions in the OP?

>>9363537

To an extent, yeah. But you don't want the leather to look like you ballsack 1 week after you buy the shoes...

>> No.9363552

>>9363535
Yeah, there are different versions, even with the leather tab.

>>9363537
Nice creases are. Bad leather will look old and wrinkly as it ages, even to the untrained eye.

>>9363537

it depends. if they're very expensive and/or formal shoes then no. if you want them to become distressed then yes. but it happens to some degree on all leather shoes. a shoe tree can help prevent it. those creases are from a winter in the snow, i haven't cleaned the shoes at all. they were ~$65.

I'm sure the left one has a thicker tongue and the right one has a thin one.

can somebody tell me why do you guys like these shoes? i can see a few problems with them
Colour, the horrible vent holes, the terrible patch on the heel, the awful sole, and the fact that in the uk you can buy primark shit that looks the same and nobody will care.
awful shoes for awful as fuck basic /fa/gs
