Guys with wavy/curly hair, how do you care for your hair?

I don't know much about haircare and stylization so maybe I'm missing something but either my hair is too dry/light from shampoo or gets too greasy where it looks bad. I've tried using hair paste/gum after washing my hair and it looks better but it's still meh. There are tons of hair products including expensive-ass shampoos or stuff like sea salt spray for hair at stores and I figured I'd give them a try but I wanted to get /fa/s opinion so I don't waste my money.

Thanks. For comparison this is the kind of hair I have on a good day which is very rare. Would your method help me achieve this?

it would look a lot straighter and flatter at first, but you could use the hair wax to style it in any manner you'd like. blowdrying reduces frizziness and makes hair look more dense from my experiences if that's what you're aiming for
