I said something about buying a watch and my dad said "oh yeah your grandpa (his father in law) had a cool gold Omega. You should probably have it since nobody's used it for like 30 years". It wasn't really a big deal, I guess since it wasn't really his watch and it didn't belong to his father. I really like it though, it's pretty much the only thing I have from my grandfather and he died long before I was born.

Then my mom told me that he used to go to Geneva all the time and came back loaded with Omegas every time, but my uncle got most of them including all of the really valuable ones. At least this one was the first good watch he bought himself, and he wore it the most.

It doesn't cost too much more to get an SKX007 instead which is better looking, isn't a Seiko 5, and is actually tested and certified for diving. The 007 is also super popular for modding and has lots of aftermarket parts available if you're into that or want to try that later.

Whichever one you get, I would budget some extra money to get a decent metal band because the ones that Seiko uses on their cheaper watches are usually pretty cheap feeling and they pinch your arm hairs and stuff.

>I guess you're right. also, yeah, the tan one looks weird in that particular picture. it looks much better IRL.

>the olive looks military and if you aren't military, it's tryhard.

it doesn't. you just would need to change the strap but thankfully the watch is so tiny it will never look try-hard at all. I own the green one.

the wristfedora of the flieger watch bitchwrist guy looks tryhard if anything.

other than that, yeah I agree I guess the black one is the best choice. it goes well with everything.

I've seen a bunch of custom seiko 5 dials though. there was a nice orange/grey dial. so I thought about modding one of them.

>a canid with it's tail between its legs on the face is hardly a vote of confidence.

it's a symbol from a series of stealth (!) games. big whoop, of course the fox has a lowered tail. since he's being careful and alert. Ever seen a fox in the snow searching for his prey underneath the snow and then jumps? very similar pose once he's in mid-air.

the game content and liking a game are two very different things.

the red motive is from MGS peacewalker and is perfect for a sub-dial background. you don't even explain why you think it's "terrible". is it a question of taste? well other people like different things. another case of "stop liking what I don't like".
