General thoughts on asos? Pile of shit or not, how have your purchases gone?

Models are all punchable looking. Other then that good for basics like uniqlo or whatever

glad you made this thread, I was just thinking about this. it seems people do nothing but talk shit about it, but a lot of their stuff looks pretty good on the website. is it basically comparable to h&m?

>> No.9274229

Ordered a grey long sleeve tshirt once and they sent me a navy blue.
Ordered a pair of jeans and they felt like cardboard.
Ordered a jumper and the sleeves were attached weirdly so it didn't look intentionally oversized body with slim sleeves, it just looked like I had washed it wrong and parts had shrunk and caused it to balloon from under the armpits.

Don't order from there anymore now.

>> No.9274231

>>9274212
who actually talks shit about it?

I think it's by far the best site for clothes if you don't have much to spend. Customer service and delivery are top notch too

>> No.9274248

would you spend 90$ on anything asos brand?

>> No.9274258

kinda hard to say. i purchased quite aot there though. asos own brand is chit. buy it only if 80% off. and i hate that they give FAKE mode measurments and they dont always wear size m.

I've seen plenty of people on this board say that their quality is generally complete shit. But... I don't know if they're just being snobs or what. Just being snobs, I'm guessing. We all know you get what you pay for, so I'm wondering if it's good, considering how generally inexpensive it is.

>> No.9274330

Honestly it's not as good for the price as a lot of other similarly priced places are.
A lot of house brand stuff seems to veer suddenly from being under to over designed which makes you think maybe the under designed stuff has more effort out into the quality or cut. Nope, construction can be really shaky and the quality of the items isn't nice either from a materials perspective either. The sizes can be really off as well.
Their big draw used to be the free shipping so you could just get some socks and call it a day but now that they have a minimum spend it really worth going elsewhere.
If you want fair basics for a good price go to uniqlo.

>> No.9274337

>>9274191
SO much shit, everytime they try to make something "trendy" it's always shit. but the basics are fine, i see no reason not to buy them if you're poor like me. save for the knit stuff. never buy knitwear from asos. other than that you're good.

>> No.9274343

Decent deals on non own brand shit.

>> No.9274349

Ordered a Yeezuz T on the 15th on January and its still not fucking here.

Canada btw.

Their stuff is decent but shipping is such a fucking pain in the ass.

>> No.9274361

Honestly ASOS is my go-to online store for anything new, but then again I'm a woman.
I don't know what the men's stuff is like but the women's is generally really good and they've never let me down in terms of an incorrect order/shipping.

>> No.9274381

>>9274191
For some reason people don't seem to realise that ASOS mostly sells shit from other brands, some of which is good. I've seen people post things from the website in the Cop or Not, for example, and be told not to cop because ASOS is shitty quality, even though the product wasn't ASOS at all.

Their own-brand stuff is on the level of H&M--cheap and generally poor quality. The does not mean, however, that your clothes are going to fall apart like so many retards claim. I don't even understand that shit, if your cheap shirt is ripping after one wear It's probably you doing something wrong.

Also, you get what you pay for, ASOS own brand is very cheap and they don't pretend to be high quality. They obviously won't disintegrate but you shouldn't expect it to last you a few decades.

Basically, ASOS sells some really good stuff from other brands at good prices, and the home brand is pretty much H&M by another name.

Your standards must be so low

>> No.9274429

>>9274397
Again, your standards must be so low.
The materials are often pretty poor. I'm the person who mentioned cardboard jeans earlier on, they're the poorest quality jeans I've ever worn and I've work topshop jeans.
Their fit is so poor on the petite range that sometimes they'll size down in length and nothing else so you'll have shoulders than hang off because it wasn't scaled properly.
The colour options for the clothes almost always look primark tier. Bright, saturated, not thought through and far too much cobalt. Sizing varies wildly. My cardboard jeans were a petite 4 and far too large on the waist and legs, my weirdly shaped jumper was a petite 4 and too tight on the neck and sleeves. Which is definitely poor sizing because my upper body is smaller than my lower in ever other brand I've tried.

Asos own brand isn't good. It isn't even good for the price.

1. encounter:
Looking for shoes. Asos has a nice pair for €100, but UK only and out of stock in my size. Check the manufacturer website. Same shoe available in all sizes for €80. Cop from manufacturer.

2. encounter:
Looking for a parka. Again Asos has a good looking one for €100. Check manufacturer website, can't find the parka on their website so I say fuck it and cop it at Asos. Parka arrives, Asos didn't even bother removing the manufacturer's price tag which said €80. Feel scammed.

When I bought the parka I also copped a pair of Asos-banded knitwear to see what the fuzz is all about. Both sweaters look absolutely cheap & terrible and this is coming from someone who has no problem with a few H&M tees and sweaters in my wardrobe.

Is there a cheaper place to buy the same (or similar) items? I tried on a friend's dress once and it was just a size too small but it was so over priced for what it was that I couldn't justify spending that amount for the "eh" tier quality.
