Recently found out that leather jackets are surprisingly easy to wear, pic related, I got this old double rider kicked down to me recently (I know this doesn't really show it off well, I just thought the leather looked pretty here.)

Makes me reconsider getting a Rick Stooges at some point.

it's a traditional artifact, it actually has no function/position in (utalitarian) society

you literally get the leather soles knowing full well they are completely dysfunctional on most terrain, slightly uncomfortable and need to be resoled immediately (before moulding and wearing too far into the sole)

tl;dr; nothing of interest happens and you have to spend $25~ soling the shoes yourself.

I'd say it's because there's an elastic band sewn between the layers of leather. I think his point was that Rick leathers don't use more "classic" features and therefore won't ever be so beautiful. But, eh, different folks different folds, I think elasticized leather looks awful personally.

I'm aware
i mean hem as in the visual end of the sleeve

but maybe i perverted it, as the leather ends beneath the sleeve...the real hem, etc.

There's no elastic in the cuffs. The tension in the fabric is created purely by a special cross-stitching pattern that uses the resistance of the leather itself to produce an elastic effect.

the purpose of fastfood advertisements is to construct an image?
but then why do they also celebrate the price, limited time offers, and potential value meals alongside prices of burgers?
surely they could all be left out and just images of burgers and lettuce flying across the screen would then be enough if it were all about image.

Being aware of something != surrendering or being involved in related regime
a market monopolgy, in the case of fast food, would mean everyone is only consuming products from the fast food companies cache and never anything else, and that isn't true.

Big groups like pepsico, coca cola etc.. have cereal, yoghurt brands and all, they control all the food brands so if you don't eat at mcdonalds, if you buy some Danone, Nestlé stuff, you're also paying them. It's endless m8.

I have more experience than you on japanese auction sites and rakuten, which is what we're talking about
i can assure you, you're wrong.

it's not a complete gamble because i've done it and succeeded... but i often have a base know how of the product and their measuring parameters.

also jp sizing and insole measurements aren't the same thing...
...
can you go away now?

How is your foot 27.5 and mines 27 but you wear such a small size. Isn't 41 like a us 8? I'm like a 10

Except businesses don't operate by wikipedia standard...
I have a CdGH+ pair that are 25 1/2 and a Y's 26 1/2 both exact same outsole and fit me like a dream.
while my foot insole is 27.5

it's not standardised to a real value, it's completely arbitrary and regulated inhouse... sometimes... you even get size inconsistencies between different models of the same label.

no re.

I can't stress enough how NONE of it is standardised...
this is why i'm really suggesting you take your REAL numerical value measured directly from your shoe outsole and take it to their REAL numerical value measured from the shoe outsole.

Please keep in mind no company sizing is standardised to anything, or not enough to make it worth considering their sizing based on their sizing process. ALWAYS ask for the real hand measured record, whether it be chest, sleeve length, shoe sole etc.

It's not sometimes, it's a consistent truth amongst both europeans, asian, trans-pacific labels...

no one is standardising

who cares... i don't think anyone considers you a critical authority anyway.

You're so wrong that I'm actually getting mad. Leather's only real functionality as a sole is it's unique clicking sound when you walk, so it's not the greatest choice ever.

With that being said, it doesn't fucking disintegrate "after a week" and leather soles don't have to be replaced "immediately," you fucking mong. Unless you're smashing your sole into a fucking nail, it's going to take ages (months and even years) to wear down the sole to the point of demanding a resole. Depending on how many shoes you have in your rotation, it's not unheard of to go a decade without a resole, only some heel replacements during that time.

If you honestly think leather soles are that flimsy, you've been buying shit shoes. My cheapest "nice" shoes are Allen Edmonds, and after three years they're nowhere near needing a resole.

i think that's awful
a lot of the carpe diem members, even if they collaborated to produce great things, proved that outside of this association have failed to produce content of worthwhile stature

Maurizio Amadei (M.A+)
Luca Laurini (Label Under Construction)
Simone Cechetto (Augusta)
Mariavittoria Sargentini (Marvielab)
Yoko Ito (individual sentiments)
Fabio Quarente (F QR)
Sara Lanzi
Issei Fujita (Lumen et Umbra)
Jun Hashimoto (WJK)

So let's go through this list
m.a+ still makes alright things, although most of his commercial success seems to come from reproducing things that were planned or developed under carpe diem. a lot of his own things, such as the accessories and bags do well enough
some things suck complete dick, like blatant lmaltieri rips that just... suck complete dick
and i've heard only bad things about the womenswear, not the same for mens i claim but...
who knows

Luca
Fucking genius, 10/10 would bang, would bang twice

Simone
0/10, would not touch with 10ft pole, career based on lying, dubious claims of association with carpe diem, career founded on ripping off ccp and carpe diem (extremely heavy references... there is no second guessing... like rips to facilitate pushing them off sales). at one point ccp released a statement saying they would not sell their stock to stores that stocked augusta etc. apparently makes nice enough boots biw though - still think he's a cunt.

Marvielab
10/10 always

Individual sentiments
not so bad, kind of boring, nice enough clothing

Layer-0 (avantiedero_field)
i don't really like, looks okay - nice shoes whatever

Fabio
10/10, did his own shit would bang

LeU
Kind of dull, rarely cool things, some nice fabrics and simple shapes - pretty dull

WJK
sucks complete dick.

So to round it all up who i think are okay
Luca, Marvielab
tolerate: Individual sentiments, Fabio
