What does /fa/ think about the Raf Simons x Sterling Ruby collection?

Is it worth copping any of it in the sale? I quite like the sweaters. They were a key piece on the catwalk.

Raf Simons x Sterling Ruby F/W 14 WILL absolutely be future grails, save this for future reference. I guarantee it.

It's one of raf's most inspiriting and daring releases. Their coats will be wanted by many and will retain their value. Though these are very conservative observation, they will most likely sell for even more in the future.

the quality of the print (and the sewed in orange patch) is good, not sure about the sweat itself. the necks on raf sweatshirts are always good because they're high and tight. as for the prints, if you like it, buy it. i hope you were talking about quality when you asked if these are 'worth copping'

you said you like them and they're cheap now so what's the problem. 3rd is the best one imo. just be sure that you like them and not the label

The coats and parkas that actually have Sterlings work on them are fuckin incredible, to bad for the 20k price tag on most. Besides that some of the pants are interesting but pretty difficult to pull off well. The cropped bombers are beautiful but for 2k I would just find something much more well made that I probably like more anyways, same with the extra long bomber. As for the prints most of them suck I do like the print with the open plant pods but that's about it. Not even going into shoes 85% are trash. Overall it was a nice show to look at but that's about it SS15 was much better in my eyes. The tackiness of the prints could have been completely negated if he had done what he used to and made the prints patches and then sewn them on. Then I would be willing to consider the prices a little more. I like that Raf is seemingly bringing back later 90s-early 2000s Raf but if it continues to be like this I don't know if that's all that good.

It's like a piece of art, just buy it if you like it, raf has decent hype to at least pretty much keep the value and sterling doesnt collab often.

What do you guys prefer Rafs ss15 or fw14? I personally much preferred ss15. I actually really liked the prints in this season and found them much more tasteful than fw14. I know a lot of people didn't like the sailor jackets with the prints on the back but after some reading up on them I appreciated them much more. Plus I fully expect the hand beaded tanks to become huge grails.

Also how do you feel about the fact he will be continuing to work with Sterling on an entirely separate brand?

I copped this one for pretty cheap. Think it's pretty underrated.
The quilt is cool and the words on the bottom remind me of the scrolling text on busses/subways.

A cool detail is that when you flip the bottom up if has FATHERS stitched onto that side.
