content: considering getting my first items altered.

i find it hard getting bottoms long enough to fit properly and i vary between wearing xs and s in tops, i'm too tall for xs but too thin for s.

i'd probably be bringing in some new basics from clo/uniqlo, a few shirts that i like and a few pairs of trousers over about a month. i can get jeans and business suit trousers that are long enough no problem, but always fall short with casual trousers and jeans.

i've never done it before. don't know what to look for in a tailor, don't know how much it costs, don't know if i'm doing it right. am i making a good call? is it dumb to get something from h&m/cos/uniqlo/aa/gap etc altered? or should i save it for when i get designer stuff?

>> No.9216746

I have pretty long legs, a rather short torso, long arms, and i am quite skinny. so what happens is that a sweaters in medium are about right in length, but the sleeves are not long enough. but large is too baggy.

so w2c sweaters that actually fit? i have one from dansk bomuldskompagni that fits great, but they don't sell them anymore.

Are all the different kinds of t-shirt at American Apparel cut differently? I got some in a sale and each one fits like shit in a different way. The mainline ones are a bit long but fit well in the shoulders and body but one of the ones I got fits like a square and is wider than my shoulders but the sleeves are short enough that they stop in the same place as the regular. y! auctions just use the auto translation on chrome to navigate the website. when u find something you want go on fromjapan.co.jp and paste the url in to ur 'watch list'. use the fromjapan system to place a bid and then just follow the instructions

for rakuten literally just click 'add to cart' and then checkout how you would any other shopping site. the only difference is that when you're all done and paid, before they actually take the payment and ship the item, they send you an email to confirm and you just have to reply like 'yes, please take the payment'

this isn't hard stuff, mate

shipping/customs can add up to a lot but who cares? it's still cheaper than buying off ebay/grailed/sufu and you're also getting access to items you'd never be able to find otherwise

I'm looking for heavier jackets, but I'm not quite sure what is the balance between being large/puffy/material for the sake of not freezing my nuts off, and the balance of being relatively fashionable.

I'm doing my best to avoid peacoats, especially double breasted ones. Advice?

1) Does anybody have any experience with this season's iteration? I wasn't a fan of zipperdick, but this one is a huge improvement.
2) Are they warm? I live in DC so it can get quite cold. I know that the Sid bomber was supposed to be really warm, and the OL ones look decent enough to do the job, but was wondering if anybody could answer this.
3) Would it be better to wait before copping? Most places are sold out and the main store still has them but they are $400, which is within my budget, but i'd prefer to spend as little as possible.

Google 'stan smith navy', next to images click shopping and look there, sort by price low to high if you want.
The yellowed sole in the image will indicate if they're higher quality or not.

I managed to get mine for £47 on sale, high quality version too.

As far as boots go, I really like Docs, biker boots and combat boots. Just go for something leather and cool and it should last you for years, but don't be afraid of variation. I Dark Wranglers are inexpensive, last a long time and look great(in my opinion) with age and when they tighten up. Shirts can be a variety of things, but typically button ups or tight t-shirts work the best in my experiences. I'm particularly fond of a kind of rough, sand colored button up with Infantry patches sewn on to the arms. Sometimes people can pull off hats or caps with this, but personally I'm not a fan
