Which lower, middle, and upper level clothing brands/boutiques offer the best relative quality of clothes relative to your dollar? Conversely, which brands are nothing but overpriced/worthless hype?

Barbour londen and Cav empt in my opinion

>> No.9210197

relative to what you pay, J. Crew is pretty okay. People shit on it here a lot, I assume their clothing isn't black and "exclusive"

low end: uniqlo/jcrew on sale
mid: apc
high: none exist that are a good p/q ratio, ur paying for the details/brand/fit/specific shit that nobody in the real world cares about. maybe something like burberry where their warranty is amazing but even then its pretty fucking expensive for what ur getting (its a trenchcoat)

Best low: Uniqlo
Best medium: Billy Reid or something idk
Best high: Dior Homo, or go bespoke

>> No.9211406

I don't know which are considered low-end and I don't care, but as far as quality goes, check out some of your local trade shops like millineries or tailors/seamstresses, depending on what you are looking for. They usually offer great quality for a reasonable price that isn't inflated by the brand name. There's lots of brands too of course, but I can't be arsed to list them all and it depends on what you're looking to buy. LL Bean is good for some things and not as good as some other brand when it comes to other things.

I wouldn't recommend them at full retail, but Club Monaco clearance sales are the best quality to price you'll find in a mall brand. Ever since I got lucky on merino sweaters a couple years ago (got 8 for ~$200) I've been keeping an eye on their site. The 3rd party stuff goes on clearance too, my best scores from them this year were Reigning Champ sweats for 50 and Rancourts for 95.
